Final class of my 4 week🪷introduction to meditation🪷completed this week.

I have loved teaching this course to yet another group of wonderful beings🤍

In just 4 weeks, hearing the growing benefits everyone experienced makes me very happy and totally motivated to share more meditation.
My favourite progress is the cultivation of their awareness. Really beginning to notice everyday moment to moment, trying to keep their peace at the forefront all the time. It’s not about sitting in a dark room crossed legged… it’s about getting to know yourself and what you need.

I love helping others see how very simple meditation is and yet what power it has to improve their lives.

And this is exactly what meditation guides you to do - become present, become mindful, observe everything,
Your breath
Your body
Your mind
Your mood
Your vibe
Your energy
Your habits
Your autopilot tendencies in all areas of your life.
And then - become aware of what you need to change and do something about it!

You cannot bypass grief

I know this account is about meditation and my intention is to share how taking time to be still and quiet - will help you.

It is not supposed to be about me

however I received a few beautiful personal messages about how my post about my dad helped. So I’m sharing a little more, because I like to help and these realisations come to me when I’m quiet and still

Like I said, you cannot bypass grief, you cannot pretend it’s not there

It rests within you and it comes to visit unexpectedly, out of the blue, no matter how long it has been.

I find now, that time is healing and I mostly think of my Papa without feeling the unbearable pain of grief.

In fact I’ve done a full circle and come to understand that my intense grief for all that time after he was gone was a reflection of our deep connection. This realisation made me feel at peace that my sadness was the result of my love for him and the special relationship that we had.

But still, the tears well in my eyes and there is nothing I can do to stop them, they come without warning.
And I find now, these times are most often when I’m happy.
When I feel the Love of other people and especially the intense happiness that my granddaughter brings me.

I feel happysad

For some reason it’s the joy in my heart that makes me emotional. I’m not sure why, I guess it’s because I just wish he was still here to share in all of his family’s happy moments. But also a deep rooted fear that something else will be taken from me.

Life is painful and beautiful, all muddled up together, all in the same moment sometimes

All I know, is LOVE is everything, and if you LOVE you will hurt sometimes.

Whenever you find yourself feeling a little impatient, or irritated, or angry, or disappointed, or frustrated or even a little sad -
Take a few deep breaths

It is that simple to allow yourself to become fully present in the moment.

Fully aware of how a situation is affecting you and making you feel.
Turning your unconscious reaction into conscious awareness.

Feel the rhythm of your breath as you notice your inhale and your exhale, and as you get into the flow of your breath choose to go with the flow of the day. Ride the wave, do not allow it to derail your peace and calm.

Control over the results of your emotions is possible, once you become more aware.
Leave autopilot behind and be more intentional.

Your angel side is actually more powerful than your little ogre side!
Just remember, you are in charge of your peace.

First class of my 4 week🪷introduction to meditation🪷completed tonight

I love teaching this course, helping others to see how very simple meditation is and yet what power it has to improve their lives.

And how fitting that the first class should be under the light of the biggest super moon of the year

I love the synchronicity of that!

This super moon is about illumination and truth telling - shining a light on areas of your life you need to work on.

And this is exactly what meditation asks you to do - become present, become mindful, observe everything, become aware of what you need to change

Shine a light on the areas of your life you are ready to evolve
Dim down on the areas you are ready to let go.

You really have no choice but to follow the flow of life. If you fight it, you invite suffering.

I have been fighting it.
For some time now, i have been in a spiritual no man’s land. I have not accepted the death of my Papa. I want it to be different. I want him to be here. In fact, I want everything to be perfect for everyone. Too many of my dearest are suffering right now.

Rationally I know I’m in grief, I’m in a process, I will learn how to not miss him every day.

But recently, my sense of connection, my trust in the world, my usual tools haven’t been enough, and I simply feel like a different person now.

If you are struggling with your trust in this world and this life. You are not alone.

Everything is moving forward. You will embrace life again. You have to expect the unexpected - and know what YOU need to maintain your peaceful interior.

It’s a private process, outwardly I’m myself, maybe a tinge of sadness that others can see - I don’t know, but inwardly I feel my heart is healing, slowly. And I see my growth- more lessons have been learnt, a quiet wisdom is emerging, my mortality is a little louder, I have more compassion, I need more quiet. Less noise.

Not much is actually that important. Time, health, freedom, family.

I do not believe everything has to be spoken, shared, dissected, “therapy ised” - -sometimes, strength comes to me in my quiet moments of reflection.

Meditation, yoga and nature, a small loving circle. These are my sacred aids, allowing me to release all my emotion, or hide away, or be completely “normal”. Whatever it takes, on any given day!

If you are feeling any of this, keep going, you’ll get back home when you’re ready. The heart heals slowly, but when it does, it is bigger and stronger than ever.

Sadly just ended our ✨pure relaxation✨ 4 week course.

We shared breathwork, mantra practice, deep guided meditations contemplating our connection to EVERYTHING🌍, we explored gratitude and silence, and enjoyed snippets of wisdom talks, gentle music and sounding.

I thought I would share some of the feedback, from a wonderful group of like minded women, keen to embrace their intuition and embrace their beautiful spiritual nature.

Thank you so much for the wonderful course, it was so lovely getting back into meditation…….The way you have run each session which something a little different each time is good, and each flowing into each other.

It feels uncomfortable to share this feedback - but I tell myself I really want to share the transformative potential of meditating and taking time for yourself. When you stop, take time, contemplate… it can only enhance your life by guiding you to fill it with everything you love. Let the rest fall away.

Why do I meditate

The reasons have changed and evolved over the years.
What started as a simple tool to relax, soothe my nervous system and learn to calm down has grown into an ingrained habit that I will never stop practicing.

Now, I meditate to simply be a better version of myself.

To help me act with more grace and serenity in all situations. ( ongoing practice! )

I sit in meditation to study myself, to learn to respect and take care of myself, to steady myself.
And…
To meet life exactly where it is and make the best of it, fully appreciate it and accept what is.

It’s so simple, I sit and I meet reality in this moment. I try to grant myself grace, forgiveness, acceptance.

There is so much data and science behind meditation now, it’s becoming quite trendy! It’s been around for over 5000 years, it doesn’t need proving. You just have to do it.
The benefits come. It’s nothing special, it takes no skill…
Just discipline
Just practice
Just actually doing it

In today’s world, we have become so used to instant gratification.
When embarking on something new, such as a new eating regime, new exercise programme, or an intention to start some mindfulness practice - it’s not uncommon for us to give up because we do not see quick enough results.

But if you have support, accountability, daily reminders of why you’re trying to take care of yourself, you are much more likely to stick with a new endeavour and consequently feel the benefits.

It is hard to do something new on your own.
This is why my ✨Introduction to Meditation✨ course is gently guided, we meet in person each week, and each day I support you with information and encouragement together with a short daily meditation to help you start to build a habit. You don’t do it on your own.

This commitment to trying meditation for the short period of the course is a useful starting point to help you establish the initial consistency needed to begin to feel the benefits of meditation. And there are many!

Regular meditation will bring physiological benefits, it will have a positive impact on your mental strength, and it will open you up to your intuition and personal wisdom.

✨Introduction to Meditation✨

My beginners course starts on Wednesday 5 November for 4 weeks.

Please come and join me for a relaxed and down to earth introduction on how to meditate.

My course is comprehensive and I explain a little of the history, a little of the science and how meditation positively affects your body and your mind. We explore different styles of meditation so you can find what works for you. You will be fully supported and gently guided to build your own meditation practice.

If you have been thinking you would like to find out more about meditation and how it can help you in your everyday life, then please come and give it a try.

Meditation is so simple. It is quiet time with yourself. All that you need is an open mind to try something new.

Everyone can do it, and I am committed to helping you discover what meditation can do for you.

I attended a silent retreat last weekend.
With
9am to 8pm in silence.
We meditated, practiced yoga, rested, walked, sat in Nature, listened to wisdom talks and did not speak, or look at a phone or even know the time for 11 hours!

I thought I would find it really difficult -
It was exceedingly easy! I loved it and could have done longer. The chance to do absolutely nothing except be with your thoughts is not as daunting as you may think. It was surprising how quickly my mind cleared and was able to focus on what I was actually doing, instead of trying to find distractions and things to do.

We were so well held in the space, it was beautifully organised and totally supportive and healing. A very special experience.

If you get the chance, check out , lots of meditation opportunities, Joe has an unrivalled enthusiasm, and a natural way with leading meditation. Highly recommend. 💫

Next stop for me- a 3 day silent retreat✨Been on my bucket list for years but didn’t think I could do it. Now, I know I can.

In a world where we are continually fed subliminal messages from every media outlet that we should be doing more, achieving more, getting more and being more.

It’s no wonder we feel we are not enough. It’s no wonder we are overwhelmed, running out of time, and self obsessed.

Values are too loaded in one direction. Materialism and Eternal Youth.

There is nothing wrong in chasing those values, however they do not define your success in life.

Your success lies in your very being, your very uniqueness, your connection to your soul. Appreciating every moment, showing kindness, showing up for others, going the extra mile, caring, having compassion, integrity, giving your time -
These are values to be proud of, not falling prey to the pressure of being someone you are not here to be.
Go to bed at night with a peaceful heart that knows, feels and believes you are exactly enough. ✨
