What a lovely offer from Guy and Julia Hands! Our community sure is coming together during this testing time!

Kind Island residents have stepped in and lent a hand to one Islander returning home after medical treatment in the UK.

The patient received treatment at Southampton Hospital and was unable to fly home. Guy and Julia Hands offered their boat to make sure she could return to the Island and Rubis Channel Islands paid for the fuel.

To support our community during lockdown, this week we’re launching a home delivery service, bringing books, audiobooks and DVDs to your doorstep 📚🚛

We’d love to be able to deliver to everyone, but since our resources are limited, priority will be given to people who are self-isolating and those in most need, including the over-70s and people unable to access our online collections.
If that applies to you or to someone you know, get in touch – complete the online form at www.library.gg/deliveries or give us a ring on 720392, leave a message on the answerphone and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. If you’re not a member already, you can join online or over the phone.

This contactless delivery service will be carried out in strict accordance with Public Health requirements on hygiene and social distancing. It is, of course, free.

Alliance are working on a covered shelter for social distancing outside, we think this is a great idea 💛

Up until today the weather has been relatively kind to us however as the social distancing guidelines necessitate queuing outside the store we wanted to provide our customers with shelter for when it's wet and windy.

The covered walkway should be completed in the next day or so so please bear with us whilst the team of local builders complete the job. 🙂👏🛒

We've donated some appliances to our community nurses' new base. They will be using the house to debrief, shower and change after their shifts caring for anyone in the community with Covid- 19 before they go home to their own families.
