Reticulocytes:
Reticulocytes are immature red blood cells, typically composing about 1% of the red blood cells in the human body. In the process of erythropoiesis (red blood cell formation), reticulocytes develop and mature in the bone marrow and then circulate for about a day in the blood stream before developing into mature red blood cells. Like mature red blood cells, in mammals reticulocytes do not have a cell nucleus. They are called reticulocytes because of a reticular (mesh-like) network of ribosomal RNA that becomes visible under a microscope with certain stains such as new methylene blue.

A syndrome of impaired hepatic bilirubin conjugation (congenital hyperbilirubenemia) .This very common disorder affects up to 7% of the population with a marked male predominence .It commonly manifests during the second or third decade of life as a mild unconjugated hyperbilirubenemia exacerbated by fasting and noted clinically or as an incidental laboratory finding ..The mechanism involve increased production ,diminished uptake and defective conjugation The condition is entirely benign ,the diagnosis is strongly suggested by uncojugated hyperbilirubenemia with normal hepatic enzymes and the absence of overt hemolysis.

There is no cure for the common cold, but there are ways for managing your symptoms.
While the common cold is usually a relatively mild illness, it is one of the leading causes of missed school and work. There are hundreds of viruses that can cause a cold, and although scientists have yet to find a cure, there are treatments to help you feel better and manage your symptoms.

COLD TREATMENT STARTS AT HOME
The first step to treating your cold symptoms is taking good care of yourself. Self-care measures for the common cold include:
• Get plenty of rest. Whenever possible, rest in bed when you have a cold. Your body needs energy to fight off infection, so getting enough rest may help speed up your recovery time. It's especially important to rest if you have a fever.
• Gaggle warm salt water. If your cold is giving you a scratchy or sore throat, gargling with a mixture of warm water and table salt a few times a day can provide some relief. Throat sprays and lozenges can also help soothe a sore throat.
• Eating fruits containing vitamin like oranges also helps in the treatment of sore throat
• Drink lots of fluids. Increase your fluid intake when you have a cold by drinking water, juice, and clear liquids and soups throughout the day. Upping your intake of the right fluids can loosen mucus and prevent you from becoming dehydrated.
• Try saline nasal drops and petroleum jelly. When your nose is stuffy or tender, using saline nasal drops and spray can help loosen mucus and care for your irritated nasal passages. Also, petroleum jelly can help soothe the raw skin around your nose.
• Avoid drinking alcohol. Drinking alcohol can cause dehydration and can make you feel worse when you have a cold.
• Try chicken soup. Generations of parents have spooned chicken soup into their sick children's mouths. Now scientists have put chicken soup to the test, discovering that it does seem to help relieve cold and flu symptoms in two ways. First, it acts as an anti-inflammatory by inhibiting the movement of neutrophils — immune system cells that help the body's response to inflammation. Second, it temporarily speeds up the movement of mucus through the nose, helping relieve congestion and limiting the time viruses are in contact with the nasal lining.

TiP:
has a blood test of
kidney function?
Routine kidney function is one of the most
commonly performed blood tests. It may be
done:
As part of a general health assessment.
If you have suspected low body water
content (dehydration), when the urea
level increases.
If you have suspected kidney failure. The
higher the blood levels of urea and
creatinine, the less well the kidneys are
working. The level of creatinine is usually
used as a marker as to the severity of
kidney failure. Creatinine in itself is not
harmful but a high level indicates that
the kidneys are not working properly. So,
many other waste products will not be
cleared out of the bloodstream. You
normally need treatment with dialysis if
the level of creatinine goes higher than a
certain value.
Before and after starting treatment with
certain medicines. Some medicines
occasionally cause kidney damage as a
side-effect. Therefore, kidney function is
often checked before and after starting
treatment with certain medicines.

Our mouths are full of bacteria. Hundreds of
different types live on our teeth, gums, tongue
and other places in our mouths. Some bacteria
are helpful. But some can be harmful such as
those that play a role in the tooth decay
process.
Tooth decay is the result of an infection with
certain types of bacteria that use sugars in
food to make acids. Over time, these acids can
make a cavity in the tooth.
