Dr. Solomon Appiah Kubi Honored at Maiden KNUST Kaptains of Industry Soirée & Awards Nite
Accra, Ghana — In a grand celebration of excellence and leadership, Dr. Solomon Appiah Kubi, CEO of Solak Biochemist Limited, was recognized at the Maiden KNUST Kaptains of Industry Soirée & Awards Nite (KOISAN), held on Friday, 30 January 2026 at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.
The inaugural event, hosted by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), aimed to honor distinguished alumni and industry leaders who have made remarkable contributions in their respective fields. It brought together notable alumni, stakeholders, and industry experts for a night of celebration, networking, and recognition of outstanding achievements.
The soirée coincided with the launch of the KNUST Alumni Endowment Fund (KAEF), an initiative designed to support institutional development, including student housing, research financing, and other strategic projects that enhance the university’s mission.
Hon. Muntaka Mohammed‑Mubarak, Ghana’s Minister for the Interior and a proud KNUST alumnus, delivered a keynote address, underscoring the vital role of alumni in strengthening the university’s influence, fostering industry collaboration, and promoting sustainable development.
Dr. Herman Addae, President of the KNUST Alumni Association, highlighted the theme of the event, “Partnership in Progress”, noting that the awards not only recognize excellence but also encourage stronger ties between the university, its graduates, and industry partners.
Dr. Solomon Appiah Kubi, widely respected as a biochemist and entrepreneur, was celebrated for his exemplary contributions to Ghana’s biomedical industry and his commitment to innovation and social impact. His leadership at Solak Biochemist Limited has positioned him as a role model for young professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs nationwide.
