We are on quest to educate girls and young ladies about menstruation and it’s health plus the wealth of reusable sanitary products available in Ghana there is a huge knowledge gap and this is one problem we want to address

10 interesting and useful facts about menstrual cups:

1. Reusable and Eco-Friendly
Menstrual cups can be reused for up to 10 years with proper care, drastically reducing period-related waste compared to disposable pads and tampons.
2. Made from Medical-Grade Materials
Most cups are made from medical-grade silicone, rubber, or TPE, which are safe for internal use and free from harmful chemicals.
3. Hold More Than Tampons
Menstrual cups can hold 2–4 times more fluid than regular tampons, making them ideal for heavy flow days.
4. Can Be Worn for Up to 12 Hours
Depending on your flow, a menstrual cup can be worn safely for up to 12 hours, offering long-lasting protection day and night.
5. Cost-Effective
Though the initial cost is higher, a single cup can save hundreds of dollars over time compared to buying pads or tampons every month.
6. Less Odor
Since menstrual fluid is not exposed to air as it is with pads, there is usually less odor when using a menstrual cup.
7. Body-Friendly
Cups don’t interfere with the vagina’s natural pH balance or absorb vaginal moisture like tampons can.
8. Requires Proper Insertion
It may take a few cycles to learn how to insert and remove the cup comfortably and effectively, but most users get the hang of it quickly.
9. Variety of Sizes and Shapes
Menstrual cups come in different sizes and firmness levels to accommodate various body types, flows, and comfort preferences.
10. Good for Active Lifestyles
They’re great for swimming, hiking, running, and other physical activities without the worry of leaks.

Join Us in Celebrating Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025 – Support a Girl with a Reusable Pad!

Thanks to your incredible generosity, last year’s Menstrual Hygiene Festival was a huge success! You helped us reach and empower hundreds of girls with education, dignity, and access to safe menstrual materials. We are deeply grateful.

But we’re not done yet.

As we mark Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025, we’re heading to Ho-Kpodzi, E.P School B in the capital of the Volta Region of Ghana to celebrate this year’s festival under the theme: “Fun & Happy Period Days.”
This year, we aim to provide reusable menstrual pads and hands-on pad-making training to even more girls in rural communities – helping us fight period poverty and promote sustainable menstrual health.

We need your help again.

Please donate to support our cause and give girls the chance to manage their periods with dignity and confidence. Every cedi counts!

Let’s make period poverty a thing of the past – together.

Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for standing with every girl.
