I held an extensive discussion with the Diaspora African Forum, comprising female Ambassadors in Ghana. Pledging their full support and commitment to my office, they also expressed their willingness to collaborate in addressing key national challenges, particularly in food security, education, labor, and agriculture. They also highlighted their mentorship initiatives for women and emphasized the importance of country-to-country facilitation to sustainable development. They recognized the deep cultural and economic ties between Africa and its diaspora.

In response, I expressed my appreciation for their support and acknowledged the vast influence of the African diaspora. I also raised a fundamental question: why Africa, despite its significant contributions to global development, continues to face persistent challenges. I emphasized the need for Africa to support herself through self-sustaining initiatives and to empower girls and women by building their confidence and leadership potential. We need research and policies that align with our unique identity and solutions that address issues at their root.

The priorities we discussed included:

Rural Development: Improving the quality of life and, especially, enhancing the working conditions of market women. I proposed infrastructure support in markets to protect vendors from harsh weather conditions.
Women’s Health: Expanding the healthcare focus beyond reproductive health to include mental health support for women.
Quality Education: Ensuring children receive a high-standard education that equips them for the future.
Empowering Small Businesses: Recognizing and elevating the economic value of small-scale enterprises such as shea butter and soap production.
Agricultural Sustainability: Establishing a robust irrigation system in northern Ghana to support farmers and improve local livelihoods.

We must continue to grow strategic partnerships that drive tangible progress and take actionable steps toward long-term development solutions.

On February 4th, I held a diplomatic meeting with H.E. Manish Gupta, Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, who conveyed warm greetings from the Government of India and reaffirmed India’s commitment to maintaining strong bilateral ties with Ghana. He highlighted India’s ongoing support to Ghana through fully funded programs in key areas such as technology, accounting, and finance, as well as broader assistance to universities. He expressed India’s openness to continuous dialogue and collaboration.

I thanked him for his kind words and acknowledged the need to maintain our strong partnership. I reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening Ghana-India relations. I emphasized the need for robust training programs in IT and engineering to drive sustainable national progress and highlighted the importance of equipping Ghanaian students studying abroad with skills that address critical gaps in our economy.

Additionally, I expressed my deep appreciation for Indian art and culture and emphasized the value of cross-cultural learning and collaboration. I reiterated my commitment to fostering discussions that yield mutual benefits and advancing strategic cooperation in key sectors.

I received H.E Berenice Owen-Jones, the Australian High Commissioner to Ghana. She offered her congratulations and highlighted Australia’s involvement in Ghana in terms of agriculture and climate change.

The High Commissioner indicated that improved and sustainable agriculture, the 24-Hour economy policy, and TVET are three areas of our government’s proposed interventions that align well with their planned engagements with Ghana. She also explained that the Australian Day Celebration in Ghana is her government’s way of telling Ghanaians more about Australia and their relations with the wider world.

I thanked her for the visit and acknowledged the good wishes and congratulations from the people of Australia. We agreed on the importance of cordial relations between our countries and our mutual desire to strengthen this relationship. Future exchanges between the two countries will allow us to sustain the bilateral relationship and help ensure that our needs and priorities are aligned.

Furthermore, I spoke with H.E. Owen-Jones about the need to examine the interventions that are targeted at the vulnerable in society, in order to verify whether those needs are being met by the various interventions. To this end, I explained that our government is interested in grants that help build up the vulnerable in the society and improve their livelihoods.

I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your kind messages, warm wishes, and uplifting prayers. Whether you reached out through calls, texts, face-to-face or interactions on my social media channels, your support has truly touched my heart. I am overwhelmed by the love and encouragement I received yesterday, and I feel incredibly humbled and thankful.

As is typical of my birthdays, I felt inspired again on Friday to give back to the community as a way of showing my gratitude to God.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of visiting an orphanage in Tamale, where I made a donation to support the children in their care. It was a moving experience that reminded me of the importance of community, compassion and our common humanity.

Additionally, I caused another donation to be presented on my behalf to the leprosarium in Ankaful, in the Central Region. These facilities do vital work, and I am honored to contribute to their efforts in providing care and support to those in need.

My story is one of God's grace and I truly believe that this is just the beginning of many more blessings.

I am committed to continuing this work and finding more ways to serve and uplift our beloved country, Ghana. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and bring about meaningful change.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support; it means the world to me.

Let us move forward with hope and dedication, knowing that we are all part of something greater.
