The second edition of Joy News Impact Makers awards recognized and awarded some individuals digging deep into themselves for giving hope to citizens and communities.
Dr. Joel Duah Affi was awarded through his initiatives and dedication which significantly impacted healthcare access and outcomes in Ghana in the following areas:

Reduced maternal and neonatal mortality
Non communicable disease prevention
Public health interventions
Health care infrastructure development
Community support
Free surgical outreach
Mobile health and telehealth initiatives etc

On Tuesday July 9th, Dr. Joel dedicated this prestigious award to the staff of Asunafo South District Hospital during a clinical meeting to show his appreciation. He applauded the entire staff for their dedication, teamwork, support and hard work for this great achievement.

Celebrating Success; Best Clinical Service Performance in Ahafo Region.

Asunafo South District Hospital, was adjourned the best Clinical Service Performance in the region hurry! This program was organized by Ahafo Regional Health Directorate at Zenitel Oasis Hotel Goaso, on the 27th March, 2024 during its 2023 Annual Health Sector Performance Review.

The award was received by the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Joel Duah Affi. During his speech, Dr. Affi stated that: the achievement is a true testament to incredible dedication, hard work and unwavering commitment to excellence of every staff. It is a reflection of our collective efforts and the impact we are making in delivering quality healthcare services to the wonderful people of Asunafo South and Ahafo region in toto.

Well done Asunafo South District Hospital. Your shining achievement has left us all dazzle. Your relentless pursuit of excellence and focus towards quality healthcare delivery has brought a well deserved success. Your dedication and and commitment has set you apart as a true star. STAFF DURBAR FOR THE THIRD QUARTER OF THE YEAR

On Monday 10th October, 2022 the hospital held it’s third quarter staff dubar. The discussion revolved around two thematic areas:
1. Improving hospital OPD attendance
2. End of year thanks giving program for all hospital staffs.
The welcome address was done by the Medical Superintendent Dr. Joel Affi Duah. During his opening remarks, he expressed gratitude towards the hard work of the staffs. He further applauded the staffs for the continuous acquittals of their duties to improve quality health care delivery for the people of Asunafo South District.
Staffs were given the opportunity to express their views towards the improvement of the OPD attendance. Splendid ideas were shared to champion the course.
Finally, the planning committee of the end of year thanks giving program updated the house towards the upcoming program. This program is geared to support malnourished children within the district.

Unto God be all the glory. The free surgical outreach which was scheduled on the 23rd April to the 27th May 2022 has come to a successful end.
Kudos to Dr. Joel Afi Duah, the Medical Superintendent of Kukuom District Hospital, Hope Surgical Foundation, Appiah-Kubi Foundation, Mandela Washington Fellows Association of Ghana and the Lions International for championing the surgical outreach for making it a prosperous one.
The entire staff of Asunafo South District Hospital also played a massive role to ensure the success of the outreach.
The program commenced with a free hypertension and diabetes screening at the forecourt of the OPD at 7:00am.
A total number of 108 cases were screened from 25th April to 13th May 2022. General surgery cases were scheduled on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday was dedicated for obstetrics and gynecological cases and Friday was set for mop up cases.
