The 2nd edition of the Weebird's Suhum Odwira "REP YOUR 18 JOGGING" took place last weekend. The event which was slated on the 10th of November took place successfully. It witnessed over hundreds of youth coming out to partake. The REP YOUR 18 JOGGING is an exercising and networking program that is planned to bring the people of Suhum together to share ideas, connect with others and join one force to solve social problems facing the Suhum Municipality. The event saw every area or 18 representing in particular branded apparels, Central Suhum was made up of Volta house, Total, Kyebi station, Police station and beyond represented in white, the Romans represented in yellow, Ayekoste and beyond also represented in their red branded t-shirt among others.
On Saturday morning, when organizers where adding final touches to preparation to see the events kick of as early as 4 am, some participants of the events had already arrived in their neatly dressed apparels and waiting for the day to start. After 5.30am when the massive crowd had converged at the T-junction we jogged through some of the principal streets of the Suhum township with police es**rt. It was a memorable event seeing young kids and their parents representing in grand style.
Even though we had adequate water and first aid on standby, the event saw no casualties, it was an accident free event. After an hour of jogging through some of the major street of the town we gathered in front of the NHIS office at post office for aerobics and get together section.
This year, Weebirdgroupe added another program to climax the event, after the aerobics and get together which served as a means of networking and fun making, there were music performances from some talented upcoming musicians who are natives of Suhum and also Weebird's decorated arts Da-Costa" the GhRapper" and Obibini " The Rap Messiah", was lit. These young talented up comers showed Suhum what they are capable of. Talents like Elby, Tradey, Ace, Fees and Ashes Slim where on fire on stage. The Gh Rapper raised the tempo when he stepped on stage with his "69"tune, he further introduce Obibini and they performed "Kasa". The Rap Messiah's energetic performance thrilled the fans and he finally pulled the curtain down for the day, you just had to be there.
The Rep your 18 jogging events, got better when Obibini had to announce the winners of the events.
Congratulations to East Suhum, the Romans retain the Ultimate trophy, participation certificates were also given to every 18 and medals were given out to some participants.
