Building Resilient Minds at Christ Apostolic School Complex, Tamale
Total Life Enhancement Centre Ghana was honoured to engage BECE candidates at Christ Apostolic School Complex, Tamale, as part of our mental health and psychosocial support outreach
With just 13 days to BECE, we tackled the real issues students face:
Key takeaways from our session:
1. Stress isn’t the enemy– We helped students see that a healthy amount of stress drives preparation and focus. The goal isn’t “no stress,” but managing it well.
2. Practical tools for calm & focus – Deep breathing exercises, smart time management, and hands-on practice with past questions over passive reading.
3. Rest is part of preparation– Managing time well creates space to rest, recharge, and retain more.
4. Confidence building– With 10 days to go, we reminded candidates: _Trust your preparation and the knowledge your tutors have poured into you._
5. Power of words – Through CBT-based psychoeducation, we addressed hurtful comparisons and negative comments from teachers/parents. Students learned how to reframe those words and protect their confidence.
The session was interactive, honest, and full of meaningful questions from students ready to take charge of their mental space before exams.
Huge thanks to the school authorities for the warm reception and to every student who showed up for themselves.
To all BECE candidates: You are more prepared than your anxiety tells you. Breathe, plan, rest, and believe.
