Alpha Health Group Visit to Tema General Hospital on Monday, 13th April 2026, the Alpha Health Group paid a follow up working visit to Tema General Hospital, where they were warmly received by the Medical Director, Management, Sterile Processing Implementation Team and the Total Quality Management Team.

The purpose of the visit was to follow up on the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) virtual training that had previously been conducted. This training is aimed at preparing participants for certification in sterile processing. Although the programme was initially intended to be delivered in person, unforeseen circumstances necessitated a transition to a four-week virtual format.

During the virtual sessions, 10 out of the 24 chapters in the training curriculum were successfully covered. Following this phase, the visit was organized to engage directly with facility teams and to initiate the practical implementation of the knowledge acquired.

As part of the implementation process, each facility established a SPIT team. During the visit, the Alpha Health Group met with the TGH SPIT team and conducted walkthroughs various departments. These engagements provided an opportunity to review the intended scope and identify gaps in current practices in relation to the standards and best practice.

The next phase involves documenting the identified gaps using a structured template and developing a comprehensive action plan with clearly defined timelines to address and mitigate the issues.

Going forward, the Alpha Health Group will conduct bi-weekly visits, dedicating a full day at the facility to monitor progress, document improvements and provide feedback to leadership.

This continuous engagement is expected to significantly strengthen and enhance the sterile processing department.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the entire team for their cooperation, dedication, and commitment to improving service delivery.
