For some of you it is easy and for others it is much more difficult to achieve some, all, any of the above or anything else on your own personal list.
What were you going to achieve in 2016?
Same or different? If it is the same then stop for a moment to consider how your beliefs may be sneakily sabotaging your efforts or encouraging your lack of effort.
Everyone knows that thoughts and beliefs are permanently with us 24/7… 365. They have more impact on our life than anyone or anything. It certainly would make sense to have a look at them and check where they came from? How do you know they are true? More importantly, do they serve you well? Are they helping or hindering you?
A belief is something we consider to be true for us, our reality. Beliefs support your thinking about what you can or cannot achieve.
Those Beliefs that serve you well, those that motivate, inspire us, propel us forward towards goals are worth keeping. Others though, you might want to change, especially those that limit us, like the ones that support the thoughts that we CAN”T do something, or be the sort of person who is something like: confident, assertive, strong, kind, likeable, successful.
When we believe we CAN”T it stops us, freezes us, fools us and we probably won’t even try. When we believe WE CAN do something, we’ll give it a go and are pretty likely to succeed!
The key to changing limiting beliefs is to find the evidence to support a new belief! Think about it like this. You are doing things, you are achieving right now, you are accomplished in many, many ways, every day you succeed at something, yes you do! Take a look back and see, remember and notice what you’ve accomplished over time, did you think you would accomplish all those things that you have! You did though! You accomplished stuff, no matter how big or small that stuff was.
If you have accomplished stuff it means you CAN. And when you believe you can and you give it a go, you are already starting from a point closer to your goal, closer to what you want or how you want to be. And then things get easier, they do! our abilities have increased and then we start to really believe we CAN achieve, and then you’ll be doing what you considered you couldn’t. Remember you have and you CAN!
