Winged Dreams a Registered Charity (No 1153276) was set up to raise funds to help destitude Gambian Families. Providing food, basic medical needs and education through sponsorship.
£25 buys a sack of rice that feeds a family for at least a month. £10 pays a childs school fees for a month. £20 pays school fees, uniform, shoes, books and lunch for a child for a month. Carol Pearce first visited Gam

bia in 1998 and over many years started to help a number of families and their communities. This vision then grew via facebook and many donations in January 2012. Personal development weekends were set up by Carol & Wendy Overall. We all give our time freely. Everyone attending donates £25 which buys a sack of rice. This feeds a Gambian Family for an entire month. So we all benefit from the wonderful work! Winged Dreams is supported and organised by the wonderful group of its Founder members. We have an active board of trustees and raise money through appeals, & fund raising events throughout the year. We currently have over 50 families sponsored, I total over 100 children are supported. We have also built 2 new classrooms in a tiny village school in Busumballa. We also raised enough money to put in a tap & flush toilets! There are 4 winged dreams junior football teams, an adult literacy project and we also held individuals set up small businesses with a set up grant. The Charity office located in Lamin provides emergency food supplies to help the most destitute with Rice and basic supplies. A small fund is also available for responding to urgent medical needs, it costs £5 to be seen by a Dr in a hospital! We really do save lives.

We returned to Abuko Health Clinic. We donated a blood pressure machine, blood sugar test kit and an oximeter. The Dr in charge and the senior nurse just couldn’t believe it! Their blood sugar test kit has been broken for many weeks! This is a basic requirement of any clinic. They also only have 1 blood pressure machine so patients have to wait a long time to be checked. These items are very cheap in the UK and we plan to fundraise to purchase more and send to the clinic in the next few months. They are life saving kits! ❤️

Wow what an amazing day… a huge thank you to the Thomas family for donating money to buy tools and equipment for the John Pickering school Motor Mechanic project in Memory of the late Pete Thomas. Pete was a great car enthusiast. The Vice principle and teacher just couldn’t believe what was purchased in Pete’s memory and donated to the project. Life changing! All their dreams came true! ❤️🙏 ###

Sharing winged dreams rice in one of the poorest areas of Serekunda. The families each bring out a bowl and Fatima carefully shares it between the families. Prayers are then said in thanks. There is so much excitement as they will all eat tonight. Thank you to everyone who supports us it really does change lives here in Gambia ❤️
