📢 Validation Meeting of the HIV National Strategic Plan (NSP) 2027–2031 for The Gambia

Today marks an important step in strengthening the fight against HIV in The Gambia 🇬🇲. Stakeholders from across sectors came together to review and validate the new National Strategic Plan (NSP) 2027–2031.

The discussions focused on moving from passive to active case finding with a focus on Integrated Universal health Coverage, sustainability and community ownership to improve prevention, expanding access to testing and treatment, reducing stigma, and ensuring no one is left behind.

Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive response to end HIV and support healthier communities.

🌏 The Ministry of Health will tomorrow join the international community in commemorating World Tuberculosis (TB) Day under the theme: “Yes! We Can End TB.”

📈 This commemoration highlights the urgent need to accelerate efforts in TB prevention, detection, and treatment.

🩺 The Ministry urges the public to seek early screening and support ongoing efforts to eliminate TB in The Gambia.

TB programme presented the implementation status of the TB and TB/HIV collaborative activities to the visiting Global Fund Country Team to The Gambia. The presentation highlighted key achievements, existing challenges, important recommendations, and lessons learnt as the programme continues to strengthen service delivery nationwide.

NAS remains committed to supporting and partnering with the TB programme and advancing the national response.

Discussions focused on key achievements, challenges, recommendations, and lessons learnt.
