🩺 World Health Day 2025 – “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures” 🍼

In The Gambia, 1 in 33 women face a lifetime risk of maternal death. 🧕🏽
24 out of every 1,000 babies don’t make it past their first month. 👶🏽
It doesn’t have to be this way.

Let’s demand better healthcare for every mother and child. 💙

Good morning! 🌞

I am sure you have, at some point, wondered whether things are changing for women in The Gambia and around the world. Yes, they are.

This progress is due to women like you. Women who invest in their children’s education, who tirelessly strengthen their communities, and who advocate for the recognition of the valuable work and contributions women have made throughout centuries.

However, there is still more work to be done. An article I read indicated that gender inequality today is greater than it was in 2015. Although we have made significant strides in the past decade, we have also seen some regression. I encourage you to stand tall, bold, and knowledgeable, for your influence as a mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend is changing the world now and will continue to do so.

Together, we accelerate our actions for lasting change for all. Happy IWD2025!

With love,
Sera

Theme: Listen to the Future.

As we celebrate Children’s Day, we remember our societal responsibility towards all children: typical and atypical. Together, we can ensure they are heard, loved and prioritized in our decision-making and implementation.

Today, I admonish future parents. Parenting is beautiful more so when the child(ren) is loved and wanted. You must be intentional about children and their needs even before their arrival.

To our parents, thank you. Here’s to another year filled with love, attentive listening and growing together.

From all of us at RRF, Happy Children’s Day. We hope for a more inclusive world for you all🎉.

Hello dear,

Thank you for your support of the foundation. We really couldn’t have done much without you.

In our efforts to gather funds and materials for our community outreach to Soma in December 2024, we will be having a fundraising bake sale. If you or your business would like to donate cash, items or services towards this bake sale we would be honoured.

We understand that some businesses might love to help but can’t shoulder the financial burden alone. Can you sell at the cost price? If so, we will still appreciate that support more than you know.

If you are not a business or not able to sponsor, you can still support us by coming by for breakfast or lunch. We will be along the Kairaba Avenue highway on both days. Come and learn about our work and enjoy delicious goods for you and your family.

Love,
Sera.

Are you aware that children with disabilities still face stigma in The Gambia? In our efforts to reduce this stigma, we are organizing a community outreach event in Soma in collaboration with key stakeholders.

We want to support our children and their families by providing food items, clothing, personal hygiene products, and more. If you have anything to contribute, please reach out.

We are also seeking volunteers. If you would like to join us in promoting inclusion, advocacy, and the implementation of our disability act, we would be thrilled to have you on board.

Let’s work toward a Gambia where every child has access to healthcare, education, and food, and is treated without discrimination.

This community dialogue with be a first step to designing a community and person-centric approach in our work and activism.
Please share this message within your circle. Thank you!

Today, we continue on with the challenges that people with existing disabilities might face when managing a cancer diagnosis.

No one should be alone. We are happy you are choosing to stand with cancer survivors

Do you know someone with a dual diagnosis?
