NAS Office, Soma ART Clinic & NASO Conduct HIV Sensitization and Testing in Sibito Village

On Saturday, 8th November 2025, the NAS Office, in collaboration with Soma ART Clinic and NASO, held a successful community sensitization, HIV counselling, and testing activity at Sibito Health Post in Sibito Village, Lower River Region.

The event, which lasted from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., brought together participants from various communities across The Gambia and neighboring Senegal (Casamance).

The initiative aimed to increase HIV awareness, promote prevention, and encourage individuals to know their HIV status.

Together, we continue the fight against HIV and work toward healthier communities. ❤️💪🏽

Our Regional AIDS Coordinator (RAC) in the West Coast Region held a seminar with students of the University of The Gambia at the Faraba Campus.

The session focused on HIV awareness, prevention, and stigma reduction, encouraging students to become advocates for positive change in their communities.

Today’s Visit Update
The visiting Senegalese team on the Cross-Border Initiative, led by our Care and Support Officer together with Ms. Fatou Cham of NASCP, paid a courtesy call to my office. The delegation also visited Hands On Care.
We had fruitful discussions and renewed our commitment to revitalizing and strengthening the cross-border initiative.

✨ Field Visit Update – LRR ✨
The National AIDS Secretariat (NAS) through the Regional AIDS Coordinator for LRR, Mr. Mustapha A. M. Joof, joined the team on a visit to MRC Keneba together with the Regional Health Directorate (RHD).
The visit also featured data verification with Care Nurse Anti Binta Manneh at Kwinella Health Center.
