WIMA had the pleasure of participating in the Shipping Career Fair organized by the Metropolitan College
We were glad to meet and interview many talented and motivated students who are eager to start their journey in the maritime industry. It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss potential career paths within the WIMA network.

We had the honor of being invited by ENSA to attend a prestigious conference in Hamburg, where we had the opportunity to present WIMA and showcase our member companies. It was a fantastic chance to connect with leading German companies and highlight the innovative activities and services that we offer.

As part of this mission, we visited two renowned shipyards – Emden Shipyard and Meyer Werft GmbH. These visits allowed us to engage with talented professionals, exchange ideas, and share the strength of our network and the diverse opportunities we bring to the table.

A big thank you to everyone who made this experience memorable and productive. Together, we continue to build valuable connections and foster collaboration within the industry.

At our December monthly members meeting, we had the honor of meeting the representatives of the Hellenic Logistics Company, Mr. Vasileios Zeimpekis and Mr. Konstantinos Papageorgiou, who presented the latest developments and prospects in the logistics sector in Greece.

Their presentation was filled with valuable insights and helped us better understand the dynamics of the industry and the opportunities available in the field.

We are proud to support the 18th Annual Maritime Technology Conference, organized by the Hellenic Institute of Maritime Technology (HIMT). This prestigious event will take place on December 10-11, 2024, at the Eugenides Foundation.

The HIMT Conference continues to play a pivotal role in addressing key technical challenges faced by global maritime industry. Each year, representatives from the technical and operations departments of leading shipping companies gather to share knowledge and insights, and this year promises to be no different.

Wima is honored to be part of this incredible event, fostering collaboration and innovation within the Greek maritime community. We look forward to engaging with industry leaders, exchanging ideas, and contributing to the ongoing advancement of maritime technology.

The visit of WIMA's members to the DEI Innovation Hub was an excellent opportunity to get an up-close look at the innovative activities of the DEI Innovation Center. During the tour, we had the chance to explore the Hub’s state-of-the-art facilities and learn about the specialized services it offers, such as laboratory testing, analysis, inspections, and certifications across various industries. Additionally, the Center is developing initiatives that foster entrepreneurship, such as the Innovation Fund and its Business Incubator and Accelerator, while supporting the development of new technologies and products with a focus on sustainable development and digitalization. This meeting highlighted the importance of collaboration between businesses and organizations to promote innovation and technology.

📣 We are pleased to announce that the President of WIMA, Mr. Elias Hajiefremidis, participated as a speaker at the seminar organized by the Evros Chamber of Commerce in Alexandroupolis!

The event, held on October 17, 2024, aimed to highlight the region’s strong maritime heritage and its close connection to the sea, as well as the potential for the development of the shipping industry in Thrace.

Our President spoke about the importance of shipping and education in the industry, in a region with a rich maritime tradition.
