The skin barrier, also known as the stratum corneum, is the outermost layer of the skin.

Its critical roles include:

* HPV infection is caused by the human papillomavirus.
* It’s the most common s*xually transmitted infection (STD).
* Over 200 types have been described and the disease is only known to affect humans.
* HPV types are often referred to as "non-oncogenic" (wart-causing) or "oncogenic" (cancer-causing), based on whether they put a person at risk for cancer.
* HPV is spread through intimate skin-to-skin contact. You can get HPV by having vaginal, a**l, or oral s*x and exchanging s*x toys with someone who has the virus, even if they don't have signs or symptoms.

PROTECT your child with vaccination.
It can be started at age 9 years.
☆ Children who get the first dose before their 15th birthday need only 2 doses.
☆ Teens who get the first dose on or after their 15th birthday need 3 doses.

The HPV vaccine series is most effective when given before a person is exposed to the virus.

The use of condoms is not 100% effective in preventing the transmission of the virus.

DERMOSCOPY, also known as DERMATOSCOPY, is a non-invasive, simple, in-vivo technique that has traditionally been useful for the evaluation of suspicious skin lesions (distinguish between cancerous and non-cancerous skin lesions).
The use of dermoscopy has expanded to include utilization for diagnosis of dermatological disorders including inflammatory dermatosis, pigmentary dermatosis, infectious dermatosis, and disorders of the hair, scalp, and nails.

• Why do people have different skin colors?
• What is the reason for this great diversity?
The color of the skin is a multifactorial feature that varies greatly among the members of every human population.
Skin color depends on the amount of a normal pigment, MELANIN, present in melanocytes (specialized cells found in the epidermis).
Differences in skin color among individuals is caused by variation in pigmentation, which is the result of genetics (inherited from one's biological parents), the exposure to the sun, or both.
Natural skin color can also darken as a result of tanning due to exposure to sunlight.
The pigmentation is sensitive and easily affected by injuries and diseases. Discolorations can take the form of hyperpigmentation (brown spots) or hypopigmentation (clear spots).
Small amounts of ultraviolet radiation are necessary for the production of vitamin D, while on the contrary, overexposure can cause damage to DNA, as well as acute and chronic effects on the skin, eyes and human immune system.
