Donna will recover, but it will be a lengthy and difficult time. We are raising funds to help cover the cost of either a) Getting Donna transported to a hospital in the UK and b) Helping with care whilst in Greece...

Thank you all .... for your kind and loving wishes .... everything went very well .... lots of correction was made to all aspects of my face .... lots of slicing .... dicing .... realignment .... and plenty of stitches! :D
And as always a HUGE amount of thanks and appreciation and respect to all of the doctors and nurses and general staff at PAGNH Hospital Crete .... (with an extra special thank you .... straight from my heart .... to Maria and Giorgos

Finally .... the next step is happening! More facial reconstruction happening tomorrow .... hopefully .... if all goes...

Sorry that there has not been any update on here recently .... but I am just waiting for my next hospital appointment .... so please keep your fingers crossed .... that I will have news to update you with .... very soon ###x

Today is two years to the date since my accident happened. ....it has been a very long road to recovery. ....a very rocky road at times.... with still a long way to go .... but slowly. .... I am getting there.... and for sure.... I recognise the pure fact that it is a miracle that I survived at all.
They say that "What doesn't kill us .... makes us stronger" .... and I definitely believe that to be true.
The past two years have taught me a lot .... about myself. ....and about other people. .... and I have learnt that we don't appreciate the basics in life .... until we no longer possess those basics. I lost a lot due to the accident. .... but i have also gained a lot of prospective about life .... and now I need to reevaluate my life .... accept that my life has changed. ....and I must embrace the new path that lays ahead of me .... and only time will tell as to which direction that path will take me

Ta daaaaa !!!!
Another phase of the journey .... completed .... and it is all very positive .... starting with a new decision being made just this morning .... based on the latest scan results .... which showed that the internal reconstruction of my nose .... done here in January .... that we thought was going to need some tweaking .... was in fact already totally perfect .... and needed no adjustment .... so just needed some external comestic work and a skin graft .... which meant two things .... if it heals well .... my nose needs only one more operation!!! Woooohooooo!!! And it meant my surgeons had time to move onto my eye today .... and they have cut the eyelid. ... gone inside and reattached the muscle .... to hopefully give me the ability to once again open my left eye :D .... the new experience bit for me .... was that I had to remain awake throughout the operation .... so that I could cooperate which my surgeons .... to open and close my eye .... so they could align it with my right eye .... and YES it was scary .... and I am so relieved that I didn't know about that until this morning .... so there was no time to get worked up about it .... and YES .... I could feel everything .... including them manually operating my eye muscle .... cutting and stitching .... BUT my wonderful ... fantastic .... and caring surgeons .... did EVERYTHING to ensure that I was kept comfortable and pain free
