Buying health care products locally in Guam can be expensive due to local store markups. And buying online from Amazon isn't much better due to the shipping costs. As our patients know, we frequently recommend over-the-counter artificial tears, with reputable brand names such as Refresh or Systane... but it's not uncommon to see these going for over $20 a bottle!

We partnered with MyEyeStore to create an online shopping experience to purchase eye care products at a price we hope encourages more patients to use these products when recommended by their eye care providers.

Instead of aiming for margins, we want to just break even, if it helps our people get quality eye care products. To that end we have set the standard shipping fee to just $3. We think we can match most Amazon prices (but not all) and with 3$ shipping you'll save more by purchasing at least a few products at a time.

A dilated eye exam is an essential tool for detecting and managing many eye diseases and conditions. The process of pupil dilation allows more light to enter your eye, similar to how opening a door allows light to enter a dark room. By widening the pupils, eye doctors can better examine the eye for common issues such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). This examination method provides a more detailed view of the eye’s interior, which is essential for the early detection and treatment of eye conditions that may lead to vision loss.

January is Glaucoma Awareness Month. According to the Glaucoma Research Foundation, more than 3 million people in the United States have glaucoma; however, glaucoma has no early symptoms, and experts estimate that half of the people with it don’t know they have it.
