Hey guys! Welcome to our Page!😁😄

In today’s society especially Guyana, Oral health tends to be one of the most neglected part of the health sector; not just by administrators and leaders but also by the general public at large.

Hundreds of Guyanese have been victims of tooth loss, periodontal disease, and dental caries amongst the other prevalent oral diseases. Factors that contributed to such disparities and limitation to the oral health sector of Guyana include limited access to available dental services , lack of adequate resources , low socioeconomic status , low level of education and most importantly the lack of proper preventative oral health education ,and promotional services .

Simple oral health promotion, prevention and educational programs can be developed to target the issue at hand. It is with this idea that Eldorado Smile Dental Mission (ESDM) was birthed. The members of Eldorado Smiles Dental Mission believe that true prevention is not waiting for bad things to happen but rather it’s preventing things from happening in the first place. This belief is supported by Thomas Fuller who once said “He who cures a disease may be the skill-fullest, but he that prevents it is the safest physician”.
