[BDS HELPER RECRUITMENT]

The “Let’s Say Cheese!” program is a Service 100 outreach project organized by a group of BDS V students in collaboration with the Evangel Children’s Home. We're currently recruiting BDS helpers from all years for OHI, dental health talk, screening, dental assisting, etc. The details are as follows:

Co-organized with The Child and Family Bereavement Center, the Miles of Smiles outreach program has been held with great success on January 20, 2018, thanks for the tremendous support and help from parents, children, staff and helpers.

Through the talks for parents and dental check-ups, we hope that oral health awareness has been raised in the community with parents learning more about their children's dental conditions as well as how to care for the oral health of children.

Once again, thank you, and see you in the future!

The Cheerful Smiles Outreach Program was successfully held on the 14th and 21st January 2017. Dental check-ups for children, parent talk and lots of other fun activities were held in these two days. We hope this program can raise the oral health awareness among the ethnic minority community and let parents understand more about their children's dental condition. We would like to express our gratitude to all parents, children, staffs and helpers for your enormous support in the program. Thank you and see you in the future! :)

[BDS Helper Recruitment for Cheerful Smiles Outreach]

The Cheerful Smiles Outreach Program is a Service 100 project organized by a group of BDS III students. We will be serving South Asian ethnic minority children aged 3-6 in January 2017. Currently, we're recruiting at least 10 BDS helpers from all years to offer help for our activities. The details of our activities is as follows:

1. Date: 14 & 21 January, 2017 (Saturday)
2. Time: 09:00 - 12:30 for both dates
3. Location: 38 Ferry Street, Yau Ma Tei (accessible by MTR via Austin Station - 5 min walking, Kowloon Station - 12 min walking, Jordan station - 15 min walking)
4. Transport subsidy: up to HKD $24 per person per day (depends on the distance from your home)
5. Language of communication: English (with children and parents)

Don’t hesitate but to grab this fun opportunity to interact with the cute children. If you're interested, please pay attention to the following reminders:
1. Preference will be given to volunteers who are available for both sessions
2. You can state if there’s any other BDS student that you wish to be assigned together with on the sign-up form (So make sure you invite your friends to be helper together with you too! ).
3. The deadline for first round sign-ups is December 1, 2016.
4. After signing up, we’ll confirm your application via Whatsapp / email.

Our service project has come to an end with the final dental exam for pre-school children being held on Saturday morning in the same venue as the talk.
We have successfully held 4 talks and 4 dental check-ups in total from July to September this year in different districts. We hope this can promote the oral health of pre-school children and raise the awareness of parents towards their children’s oral health. Again, we thank for all the parents, children, teachers, staff and our helpers for their whole-hearted support to our events. See you in the future! :)

Thanks to the big support from parents and staff, our last talk was held successfully on Friday night in Family Ties Integrated Family Service Centre in Shek Kip Mei Estate. Hope you all have enjoyed the talk!

Following the talk, a simple dental check-up was held yesterday morning in Kwun Tong Community Centre.
Big thanks to all the parents, kids, staff and helpers for your support!
Our last talk and check-up would be held in the coming week in Shek Kip Mei, please continue supporting us.

An oral examination for pre-school children was held on last Saturday afternoon, the day following our talk at Pario Child & Parent Education Centre in Causeway Bay.
