Physical Benefits of this exerciser:

Contralateral muscle chain coordination – When the right hand moves toward the left front, it activates the body's spiral cross-body pattern. This primarily engages the spiral fascial chain, including the contralateral obliques and contralateral back muscles.

Quadratus lumborum and lumbar rotation – The waist turn is not a flat plane rotation but includes an anterior-lateral direction. This works the quadratus lumborum, internal and external obliques, and the thoracolumbar fascia.

Scapular stability and mobility – With the arm positioned on the opposite side, the scapula must provide stable support. This engages the serratus anterior, rhomboids, and subscapularis.

Thoracic cage mobility – The opposite-side hand position gently opens and closes the rib cage, involving the intercostal muscles and the diaphragm.

Proprioception and balance – Repeatedly alternating asymmetrical movements trains the cerebellum. This relies on the vestibular system and deep sensory receptors.

Liver and kidney meridians (TCM perspective) – The lateral waist and subcostal area are the pathways of the Liver and Kidney meridians. This connects the meridian system with the fascial network.

虎抱頭好處

一、對側肌肉鏈協調
右手去左前方,等於啟動身體的螺旋交叉模式,主要作用於螺旋筋膜鏈,包括對側斜肌與對側背肌。

二、腰方肌與腰部扭轉
轉腰不是平面轉動,而是帶有側前方向,能有效啟動腰方肌、腹內外斜肌與胸腰筋膜。

三、肩胛穩定與靈活
當手臂到達對側位置時,肩胛必須提供穩定支撐,主要作用於前鋸肌、菱形肌與肩胛下肌。

四、胸廓活動度
對側手的位置會輕微打開與關閉肋腔,活動到肋間肌與橫膈膜。

五、本體感覺與平衡
左右不對稱動作反覆切換,能夠訓練小腦,並依賴前庭系統與深部感覺受器。

六、肝腎經筋(中醫視角)
腰側與肋下區域屬於肝經與腎經的循行路線,這個動作能連結經筋系統與筋膜網絡。

Master Jay Xu and his students demonstrated Taijiquan in Hong Kong on March 21, 2026 (International Taijiqian Day).

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has designated March 21 each year (the spring equinox in the Northern Hemisphere) as "International Taijiquan Day." The holiday aims to promote the culture of Taijiquan, which originates in China, and to advocate the philosophy of "yin-yang balance, unity of humanity and nature." Global Taijiquan enthusiasts celebrate this health-oriented day through mass performances, exchanges, and other activities.

2026年3月21日國際太極日,徐一杰師傅及其徒弟在香港示範太極拳。

聯合國教育、科學及文化組織(UNESCO)已將每年3月21日(北半球春分日)設立為「國際太極拳日」。該節日旨在推廣源自中國的太極拳文化,倡導「陰陽平衡、天人合一」的理念。全球太極拳愛好者會在當天通過集中展演、切磋交流等形式,慶祝這一屬於健康的節日。

Breathing Exercisers ~

- Step 1: Expand and puff out the chest.

- Step 2: Relax and exhale.

- Step 3: Inhale to expand the chest and flatten the abdomen; when exhaling from the lungs, relax the belly and let the abdomen puff out.

- Step 4: When pulling, do not hunch your shoulders at the beginning; inhale through the nose.

- Step 5: Exhale.

呼吸法

• 動作1:膨脹鼓起胸腔、胸部
• 動作2:放鬆,呼氣
• 動作3:納氣,使胸腔膨脹、腹部變扁,肺部呼氣時肚子放鬆、腹部鼓起
• 動作4:拉時不要一開始就縮肩,用鼻吸氣
