✍🏼5th Nov 2022

Nothing really matters.

…except That Which Is REAL.

The only REALITY exists NOW.

The past / future exists only in the NOW through my IMAGINATION.

The REAL now.

What is the “real now”?

…It isn’t what I can perceive with my senses.

Here it is: The only thing that really matters… is what I BELIEVE (indeed, what I KNOW) to be true in my heart in THIS MOMENT - right HERE and right NOW.

If something “matters”, that is because I BELIEVE it, and NOT because of any intrinsic quality or nature of the subject of my attention / belief.

That’s why the things that matter to me may not necessarily matter so much (or at all) to others, ie why other people may not “care” about the things that matter to me, or think about those things the same way I do.

…And that’s ok. Doesn’t mean they’re wrong. Doesn’t mean I’m wrong, either. There’s no need for anyone or anything to be “wrong”. “Right” and “wrong” are BELIEFS.

What are YOU thinking and feeling right now? How often do you ask yourself this question?

Does this make sense to you? I know that at one point in my life, it didn’t. It didn’t, until it did. Funny, that!

📌How to Appreciate All Things (Even That Which SUCKS BALLS!)⚽️👍🏼

🧸Over the years, we collect all sorts of junk (physical items), and the junk then collects junk of its own (layers of dust).

⌛️Years later, if it pleases us to do so, we may decide to either remove the layers of grime (CLEAN IT), or to dispose of the item entirely (along with the dust it’s collected) as part of the process of decluttering (LET IT GO). And we do so because it FEELS GOOD to clean and declutter.

🧸By appreciating things, we automatically increase their value. In fact, that is one definition of the word APPRECIATE - “to increase the value of.”

🧸Cleaning applies to thoughts, as well as to physical objects.

🧸I love to keep my thoughts (about ANY subject matter) clean, by ENJOYING the ways ABC (could be anything) is serving me NOW. If it is no longer serving me (if engaging with ABC no longer feels good), then I am free to dispose of it; to LET IT GO with thanks for all of the ways it HAS served me until now.

🧸I am free to evolve and change, for all things are impermanent (in the process of eternal transformation).

🧸If something feels “old” or “bad”, it’s time to freshen up. Clean it up, or let it go with thanks - without anger (or even sadness). Nothing but love, because it is all good. Nothing is “bad” - “bad” is a concept. An idea. A label.

🧸…And anyway, even the bad stuff, all of it - could actually be described as good, because it led to my current PERSPECTIVE; my current AWARENESS; my current BEING.

❤️“Nothing is either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.”

🙏🏼Was this helpful? Then hooray. Was it NOT helpful? Then you are ready to find something (else?) that actually IS. Hooray. Thanks for stoping by!🙌🏼

Which flower is your favourite (in this moment)? You can only choose one! You can choose again in another moment (so the choices are infinite), but only ONE in THIS moment!

Do you believe that your choice in this exercise will affect your future?

Better said: do you believe that your attention to this exercise - sincere or not - will impact the unfolding of your life experience in any way?

As a kid, I used to play this game where I’d think that HOW I entered a new space (which doorway or corridor) mattered.

“I’m entering a different future!” I would tell myself (and anyone else who’d listen)!😆

It was a sort of game I played for fun. I dunno where I got the idea but for some reason it brought me joy.

Have you ever thought this (or something along similar lines)?❤️

🙌🏼5 things that matter to me NOW!⚡️

❤️Feeling RELAXED no matter what!
🧡Staying ALIGNED under all conditions.
💛Paying ATTENTION to things I LOVE.
💚LOVING the things I pay attention to.
💙Taking COLD SHOWERS.

🗣What things really matter to YOU today?

☝🏼Re: the last one - I know. I didn’t see that one coming either. I’ve ended hot showers with a blast of cold water in the past, but never really tried cold showers from start to finish. It takes some getting used to but I kinda like it. My skin seems to like it too.🚿

💛I have been eating a ridiculous amount of durians. The season is ending soon, can you blame me? I can't fully express my love for durians. I find myself wishing I could, and then wondering if the magic lies precisely in my inability to do so?! Who knows!🤷🏻‍♀️

🧸Re: love, I used to think being loved was more important than anything else. Nowadays, I feel that loving the things I pay attention to is far more satisfying - no matter how stupid those things might seem, and no matter what other people say. Can you relate?🥰

😍For me, I find endless joy in my Teddy Bear, and as some of you may know, my love for fresh, creamy ripe durians is pretty much equally unending (bonus points for being on sale!)

🧘🏻‍♀️Some truly wonderful people let me know about a local FREE women’s yoga class - yoga mats provided! Places were limited, so I sure was glad to secure my place~ Looking forward!

😅Posts are a little slow lately, as my routine has changed quite a lot since a few days ago. I will continue to share (still haven’t posted my kimchi tasting from last week!!) Gah. Thank you for your patience!

🗓To Whom It May Concern: moving forward, my posting schedule moving forward will be “whenever I feel like it”!😇

🥣Do you eat? I do. I eat. And when I eat, I eat and… eat and EAT. I used to eat everything. And I really do mean EVERYTHING: beef steak, pork chops, chicken wings, pizza, sushi, potato chips, instant noodles, chocolate bars, candy, even DOG MEAT (once, in Korea when I was visiting family). Weirdest thing I ate: coffee creamer from my parent’s coffee corner, with a spoon. And literal cubes of sugar, also from the adult’s coffee corner.

🌱When I went vegan, I got to enjoy the vegan versions of pretty much the same stuff. But my health wasn’t so great… whether on the usual “everything” or the vegan “everything” - acne, painful periods, excess weight, blah blah blah. Not fun.

7️⃣Here’s a list of SEVEN things (swipe to read!) that help me eat in response to actual hunger cues, and NOT beyond satiety. It’s also what I’ve resorted to because calorie counting kinda sucks (in my opinion). The first on this list helped me a LOT and was a great initial starting point, but when I noticed myself overeating EVEN THE HEALTHY FOOD… I was forced to discover (over time!) that 2 to 7 (ESPECIALLY No. 7!!!) are, for me, equally NECESSARY in order for me to eat appropriately for my body.

🙏🏼Thanks for reading - especially if you got through the entire list with my ponderings! Can you relate to any of these? In what ways do you manage your food intake and satiety (without counting calories)? Do share in the comments (if you’d like)!❤️

🌱Re: “natural”, I actually don’t think natural is always best. But what is simple & pain-free often aligns with what is natural, and simple & pain-free is what I happen to enjoy.

“Why cooked foods after 2 years raw??”

I’ve wondered this too, myself!

Short answer: a part of me seems not completely ready to let certain things go without putting them to the test.

Long answer: I’d been thinking of experimenting with cooked foods for a while - it ended up being sooner as a result of my recent stint at the hospital (I’d thought the cooler months after summer, initially)… but it’s all good.🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t think there’s anything wrong, or unsatisfying, with eating fully raw, and I wouldn’t call it “craving” exactly - but the fact that I’d been thinking about experimenting with things like cooked starches (without added salt, oil or sugar) - feels like a lingering curiosity - one I’d like to put to rest.

In terms of raw: haven’t had kimchi since last year, and I’d like to try my salt-free raw vegan kimchi again. Maybe a meal with steamed rice (or potato) at some point. Been curious for a while now how I’d find it.

In the cooler months, I’d also like to explore pickling different combinations of fruit & veggies (salt-free).

Long term, I can see this going a number of ways, but most likely it’ll either be mostly raw with some cooked, back to fully raw, or raw till dinner - I dunno. I don’t see myself going back to being a junk food vegan. Experience has taught me that salt, oil and sugar really messes up my palate in a way that I do not enjoy.

Like I said in my previous post, I went through a potato-heavy phase on my way to raw, but back then, my meals were either fully cooked, or fully raw. I’d like to experiment with mixing the cooked with the raw, before tweaking and adopting a more “settled” approach.

I’ll always continue to tweak but this experimentation phase definitely feels like a “disruption”.

Anyway… kitchen appliances… we’ll see. I have reservations about rice cookers. I do wanna experiment with rice for a bit, but I don’t think I’d want to make it a regular thing tbh. Unlike SOS free loaded veggie dishes, plain steamed rice is something I can takeout from pretty much any local restaurant.🍚

I’m feeling… curious!!!🤔🔥
