【傳媒報導】不少乾眼症患者都有疑問:眼乾是否眼睛水份不足所致?本學系臨床助理教授李雅麗醫生表示淚水不足只是乾眼症其一病因,並分享乾眼症的成因及紓緩症狀的方法。

//瞼板腺功能欠佳在長者間常見,原因是人體油脂分泌會隨著年齡增長而下降,或變得濃稠。另有研究指出,油性皮膚、或患有玫瑰痤瘡、糖尿病、高血壓與高血脂,以及正服用荷爾蒙、抗生素或使用青光眼藥水等人士,其瞼板腺功能或會受影響。而年輕患者當中,女士們卸除眼妝不當,亦有可能阻塞瞼板腺。//

//每天早晚熱敷及清潔眼睛可帶來幫助。患者可使用攝氏37至40度的熱毛巾或溫熱眼膜敷眼睛約10分鐘,幫助疏通堵塞的瞼板腺;然後以棉花或棉花棒沾上冷開水,或在冷開水中加一至兩滴嬰兒洗頭水,在睫毛根部抹一次。以上簡單方法已足以紓緩症狀,毋須另外購買洗眼液。如眼睛仍感乾澀,可使用不含防腐劑的人工淚液,為眼睛補濕。//
