Heat therapy isn’t just about relaxing. It’s actually triggering a whole response inside your body.

When you expose yourself to heat (e.g. sitting in a sauna), your body produces something called heat shock proteins - your internal repair team. They help protect your cells and keep things functioning properly.

At the same time, your stress hormone (cortisol) can start to come down, which is why you often feel calmer after. Your heart rate also increases, almost like light cardio, which is one reason heat exposure has been linked to better heart health over time.

So while it might feel simple, a lot is going on beneath the surface.

Monday morning, I used to wake up feeling guilty.

I’d eaten more than I planned. The alcohol & chocolates got me🙈

And my instinct was always to punish myself for it. Skip breakfast. Eat as little as possible. “Make up for it.”

I did that for years. It never worked. Not once.

What actually works is the opposite.
I wake up and I eat something with real protein—something with some fat that keeps me full.

Because the breakfast that sets the tone for the rest of the day is the one that makes you feel good and builds momentum.

I’d eaten more than I planned. The alcohol & chocolates got me. The cheese and crackers just SO good!
