I have recently received enquiries asking whether I am a registered music therapist, the answer is… yes! I am a HCPC-registered music therapist.

It has been a fruitful year working as a music therapist and in light of this special time, I am giving away FREE 30-minutes consultation to individuals who are interested in music therapy or becoming a music therapist.

【疫情下的親子心理疲勞】

香港的家長因為在家與子女長時間相處，而感到懊惱。

有嬰幼兒的家長，因疫情關係很少機會帶孩子外出，所以父母和小孩寧願留在家中，但同時亦怕會影響孩子身心社交發展。家長亦需要外出的機會，讓自己不用鬱悶在家。

有7歲以下小童的家長，認為子女網上學習成效不大，而且家長又要從旁指點。如果有兄弟姊妹，或有機會打交。家中有學習需要小孩的話，父母更感到大壓力，訓練也暫停了，孩子的活力無法釋放。家長亦沒有空間留給自己休息，又要家處理家中大小事，全職媽媽更忙了，日積月累之下，壓力變得越來越大。

如果你認為疫情期間你的壓力實在令你無法忍受，希望你知道，你不用一個人面對。

[Music Therapy] Supporting ASD children's developmental growth

*On the 8th day of Christmas my MT gave to me...*

I made a song for children with autism which helps faciliate their developmental needs, including imaginative play. It also encourages eye contact, the use of language and self-expression, increases attention span, interpersonal communication and fosters relationships.

The music therapy team has shared the "Twelve Days of Christmas" videos on twitter and you will get to know some of the songs and techniques that MTs have been using. Parents and children could bring these ideas into daily life and enjoy the musical moments at home. (New ideas for music therapists!) Here is the twitter link:
