How Can Child Psychological Assessment Benefit Your Child? What Is the Golden Period for Early Intervention?
Today, we aim to answer one of the questions that concern parents the most: "How can early development assessment benefit parents and children?"
Through early development assessments, we can gain insights into a child's cognitive abilities, behavioral issues, and psychological concerns:
🔸 Cognitive Abilities: Is the child exceptionally gifted? Do they have differences in learning abilities, or are they experiencing developmental delays?
🔸 Attention Disorders, Including ADHD.
🔸 Specific Learning Difficulties, such as math, memory, language, eye-hand coordination, and visual-spatial skills.
🔸 Assessment of Social Skills or Social Disorders, including diagnosing children on the autism spectrum.
🔸 Evaluation of Behavioral or Psychological Issues, such as depression, gaming addiction, anxiety, or a lack of motivation for learning.
Understanding the extent of a child's development allows parents and teachers to better guide them, provide support to help them reach their full potential, and build their confidence without exerting undue pressure. If a child experiences developmental delays, assessments help identify the degree of delay, facilitating early intervention.
What is early intervention? Early intervention, often referred to as early childhood intervention, is the process of identifying developmental delays in children before the age of six and providing appropriate care. This care may include occupational therapy, speech therapy, and psychological therapy, among other interventions.
The period before the age of 6 is the golden period for a child's brain development. The earlier we identify developmental issues in children, the sooner we can provide assistance. Viewing child early development assessment as a "health check for growth," we recommend parents begin planning assessments around six months of age, as needed, to support a healthy and happy childhood!
