At the UB (Under the Bridge) Community, Self Love Cupid team, represented by Ms. Sri Kinanti Huning, has conveyed a message to the Vice Minister of Manpower, Ardiansyah Ferry Noor.
The message we delivered concerned strengthening mental health protection for our Migrant Worker colleagues. This includes:
1. The provision of mental health education that is more accessible to all Indonesian Migrant Workers, wherever they are employed.
2. The establishment of accessible, professional mental health assistance and services in host countries, provided in an ethical manner.
3. The implementation of strong and explicit legal protections guaranteeing mental health safeguards for Indonesian Migrant Workers.
4. The creation of a funding system to alleviate the financial burden for Indonesian Migrant Workers seeking access to mental health services.
A similar message was also presented during a hearing with the Legislative Council (Baleg) of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia last month. Through this, we hope the government will pay greater attention to the mental health of our Migrant Worker friends in the future. Our efforts represent just one part of a broader movement, as the power to create lasting change ultimately lies with your collective support.
Thank you,
