EBOD is a severe acute viral illness
Causative Agent : Ebola virus
Six species: Zaire, Bundibugyo, Sudan, Taï Forest, Reston, Bombali
First identified in 1976 in South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo

Incubation Period
2–21 days
Clinical Features
Sudden onset of fever, weakness, muscle pain, headache, sore throat
Progression to vomiting, diarrhoea, rash, kidney and liver impairment
Severe cases may involve internal and external bleeding
Management
Isolation and supportive care
Rehydration (oral or IV)
FDA‑approved treatments for Zaire virus: Inmazeb, Ebanga
Prevention
Ervebo vaccine (Zaire virus)
Use PPE and follow strict infection‑control practices
Frequent hand hygiene
Avoid contact with sick persons and animals
Cook food thoroughly
Seek medical advice if you feel unwell within 21 days after travel to affected areas
