[BASc AGF Fireside Chat II]

Our second 2023 BASc Fireside Chat with AsiaGlobal Fellows was equally insightful and fascinating as the first session held in the previous week. This Thursday (9 Nov), we welcomed another AsiaGlobal Fellow, Ana Tuiketei from Fiji, who is an international lawyer and arbitrator that is the first listed Pacific Counsel with the International Criminal Court (The Hague). These discussions was facilitated by Audilia Kalyana and Genie Park, both from BASc(IS) this week and Stephen Wu from BASc(FinTech) last week.

We would like to thank the support from the HKU Asia Global Institute and BASc programme team(s) especially Professor Pauline Chiu and Dr Andrew Hoang for joining the fireside chats. Also, as this activity is co-curated by all five 4-year BASc programme student societies, namely AI Society, BASc Society, Design Plus Student Assocation, FinTech Student Assocation and us, GHD Society), the effort all excos put into organising this must also be credited. Finally, thanks again to everyone who joined this series of fireside chats and we are looking forward to hosting these types of engaging, intellectual conversations again next year.

The GHD 2023 Summer Gathering was successfully held last Saturday at the Madam SH Ho Residence for Medical Students.

We were delighted to have our new director of the School of Public Health, Professor David Bishai and his family, and the GHD programme director Dr Pui Hong Chung to join our fellow students on this joyous occasion. The working group would like to thank the administrative support from both SPH and faculty office, as well as the kind facilitation from the RMS management team. Thank you for everybody who joined the gathering and shared the wonderful evening with us.

Last, all the best to the first graduating cohort in our programme's history, class of 2026!

Hi👋 Everyone.

We GHD Society are recruiting the next group of committee members (Jan 2022-Jan 2023) to act as the student body for all GHD students. 💪🏻

Our society, with only a small number of students to cater for, is probably the most flexible society in HKU, with the number of activities held entirely depending upon the session's wishes and availability. 😎 You will get to run a society, show your leadership skills, without any pressure 🫵🏻.

Besides, committee members get to be invited to exclusive events hosted by HKUMed occasionally, like our session was invited to the 135th Thanksgiving dinner of HKUMed at a luxury hotel.

If you are interested, please fill in the google form sent alongside. We would love to see the next batch of amazing students. Thank you! ❤ ————————————————————— https://forms.gle/HY39mQPCXCLjdcKK6
