We are a drug rehab center that can intake 30 addicts at one time in rehab, and 20 that are ex-addicts and homeless because they have been rejected by their family because of their past drug habits. Our center in Siu Lam Village began in September 1999 taking in eight drug addicts with me being the only staff member. Yip Ngai Wing who are supervising our center with one young man a grad from our c
enter as a volunteer. This couple is former drug addicts who have been with us for 10 years and Li Kim Hung who has been with me as my caretaker is a volunteer worker in our center who has been with me for four years. Also, we supporting three drug rehab workers in China. We are required by the Hong Kong government Social Welfare Department to be licensed, and we are working towards that now with a 2,000,000.00 US dollar renovation building project that has been completed with funds provided by the Hong Kong Government Social Welfare Department. We expect to be fully licensed by March 2021 to start to take in drug addicts once more. We have about 100 ex-addicts on the outside that have been drug-free for at least three to ten years. Starting in 1999 up to the present date we have taken in 500 addicts who needed help. Most of those who are rehabilitated are married and many now have children. One has established a factory in China with 400 workers and another a logistics business and another with a construction company with a staff of 35 workers. Of these that have established businesses now are quite wealthy and help support our center. So, I often wonder if I had never come to Hong Kong how many of these would have been dead not in prison. I am thankful to God for this wonderful opportunity to serve Hong Kong for more than 50 years For these years of service the Hong Kong government has awarded me with the medal of Honor.
