YAMA Foundation is a registered charity whose mission is to make yoga, art, and meditation accessible to underserved and disadvantaged communities in Hong Kong. YAMA Foundation believes that all people have their fundamental right to feel good in their bodies, feel peaceful in their minds, live colourful lives, and be part of a caring community - regardless of their background or ability. Our miss

ion is to provide equitable access to yoga, art, and meditation so that our students can develop self-acceptance and self-reliance to improve their quality of life. Our outreach programmes serve Hong Kong's most vulnerable communities, including people with disabilities, special needs, or chronic illness, and extend to hospices, prisons, social service organisations, schools, charities, and other non-profit organisations. We had a wonderful time celebrating the release of “An Unexpected Adoption” at the YAMA Centre yesterday, as part of our Accessible Wellbeing Community Series.

The event featured a book talk and discussion with authors Tina and Rog Thomas, followed by a fun Chair Yoga session led by our YAMA Ambassador, Mui. It was inspiring to engage in a meaningful conversation about greater inclusion and accessibility.

A huge thank you to Tina, Rog, and Mui for sharing their story with us, and to everyone who came down to support.

Mui does amazing work with us, and we are honoured to have her as part of the YAMA team. 💚

"An Unexpected Adoption: A Journey of Inclusion" Book Talk & Chair Yoga Session 📘

Join us for an empowering book talk and chair yoga session for "An Unexpected Adoption," written by Tina & Rog Thomas, with contributions from Mui Thomas.

This event, part of YAMA's mission to promote inclusivity and accessibility, will feature an introduction and book Q&A with the authors, hosted by Hersha Chellaram (CEO and Co-Founder of the YAMA Foundation).

We will explore the book's themes of breaking down barriers and building a community of inclusion. The evening will conclude with a gentle chair yoga session led by YAMA ambassador, Mui.

As part of our Accessible Wellbeing Community Series, this free event is a unique opportunity for children with disabilities, children who use wheelchairs, caregivers and parents to experience the transformative power of Yoga Therapy firsthand.

Learn from leading experts, hear an inspiring story of transformation, and take part in an interactive session with yoga therapy elements designed to uplift and empower. We’ll conclude the day with a deeply calming Sound Healing session. 🎶
