To my Emi,

I always imagined that I would be the one guiding you through life—teaching you how to eat, walk, speak, and grow. I thought I would be the one shaping your world, showing you the way, and helping you become the amazing person I knew you could be.

But as I sit here, reflecting the past 11 months on our journey together, I realize that the truth is you, who taught me the most important lessons of all.

You taught me patience on those sleepless nights.
You taught me resilience, showing me how to hold it together even when it felt like my heart had been cracked open.
You taught me to slow down, to savor every moment, simply by always needing to be held.

For the first time, I find myself rushing to improve my knowledge, not just for my own sake, but so I can share it with you.
