【August Full Moon in Aquarius: Gaza City】

The Israeli security cabinet has just approved the military takeover of the Gaza City, most likely as the first step towards full control of the entire Gaza Strip, despite opposition from within Israel and the rest of the world.

The only astrology app or website that I can find that lets users generate charts for Gaza City (or anywhere in the Strip) is astro.com, so below is the Full Moon in Aquarius (August 9) chart, set for Gaza City.

This is one of the most consequential lunations of 2025, not least because Mars will be tightly opposite the ongoing Saturn-Neptune conjunction, forming a Kite with Uranus and Pluto.

When set for Gaza City, the Full Moon is in pretty tight soft aspects with the Asc-DC, probably signifying this formal change in status?

Where’s hope for the starving population in the Strip? Would the Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Cancer, close to the MC and squares the Asc-DC, provide the relief??

【Big day in 2025: When Saturn & Neptune are closest】

Today (July 17) is an important day because Saturn and Neptune are the closest to each other in Aries this year, only 0°12’ away from being exactly conjunct!!

Although the two planets won’t become exactly conjunct and start a new cycle between them until February next year, I think this year’s almost-exact conjunction is actually more powerful!!

First, the two planets remain in tight orbs (3° or below) for longer this year! It’s 5 months, from May to October.

However, they’ll only be that close to each other for 3 months next year, between January to April.

More importantly, they will be at the apex of a very tight Mini-grand Trine (or called “Grand Sextile”) with Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius!! This is what the next year’s conjunction in February won’t have, not least because Uranus will still be in late Ta**us!

It’s a very rare alignment among the three outer planets and Saturn, marking a new era and Zeitgeist. It’s now taking us to uncharted territories, or a brave new world, depending on how adventurous you are!

This means when Saturn and Neptune become exactly conjunct next year, “residual” issues that can't be handled this year will be “finished off" finally. So the most important changes are happening NOW!!

【Israel-Iran ceasefire】

Below are the charts for the supposed start of ceasefire for Israel and Iran, set respectively for Jerusalem and Tehran.

Both are difficult charts, esp for Tehran… Just hope the ceasefire will hold for as long as possible.

【Canada’s federal election】

Canada will hold its election on April 28. Will the new Prime Minister Mark Carney be able to keep his job?

The day before the election happens to be a New Moon, in Ta**us. The lunation cycle is often a very good indicator of how major events like a nation-wide election will unfold.

Below shows Carney’s natal chart at the time of this New Moon: What really stands out is that the New Moon will form a sextile to Carney’s Saturn (which rules his 9th, MC and 11th). The North Node will also be on his Sun, with Uranus still closely conjunct his Ascendant.

I think these suggest Carney is likely to win, but that will also trigger a storm. Why??

That’s because this New Moon will square a Mars-Pluto opposition, igniting a life-and-death struggle. Will it be a domestic one? Or will it refer to the struggle against the US??

As Mars and Pluto will be lying across Carney’s 5th and 11th houses, I’d say that looks more like a partisan fight. A possible reason is he may fail to win a simple majority in Parliament and so will need to conduct very tough negotiations with another party to form a coalition government? Or, deep divisions within his own party may emerge about the best economic policy forward??

Since this is how this New Moon is configured, this “life-and-death struggle” will happen not just in Canada, but in the whole world too. For example, that’s also how China has been taking Donald Trump’s tariffs war.

On a personal level, whatever transiting Pluto touches in our natal charts, we’re likely to overreact and see things in pure black-and-white terms, owing to fears and anger being dredged up from the depths of our psyche.

However, reality is always a lot more multi-dimensional and nuanced than that. If we stay calm, we’ll find the way out!

【Chiron Return: What does that FREE you from??】

Chiron is an asteroid that takes around 50 years to travel through the zodiac. That’s why when we reach age 50, we’ll experience Chiron returning to its position in our birth charts. That’s why it’s called the “Chiron Return”.

Although Chiron is “just” an asteroid rather than a planet, my clinical observations have repeatedly shown it’s totally indispensable in chart-reading.

Astrologers usually associate Chiron with “pain and healing”, and that pain stems from being rejected, marginalized or victimized due to reasons beyond the person’s control. There’s nothing the person can do to make people “accept” them as they are.

However, as we all want to “belong”, we may try to hide who we really are, evade the sensitive topic or go out of our way to please people in the hope that they’ll “accept” us someday, somehow… but the journey through the Chiron Return, at age 50, will break that illusion, offering an opportunity for healing.

So it’s actually very constructive to ask and to discover for ourselves: “What does the Chiron Return FREE me from??”. That may throw the whole issue in a totally different light, especially if you’re struggling with it now.

【How will Trump 2.0 use his powers as President?】

Introducing a brand-new astrological method to track how a US President will use their powers!!

Some background first: As stipulated by the Constitution, new Administrations start at 12 noon, but presidents must first take the oath before exercising their powers.

Since Ronald Reagan in 1981, there's also a formal signing ceremony after the inauguration for the newly sworn-in president to sign memorandums, executive orders, etc to mark their first official act.

Even though this ceremony is officially recognized as the president’s first active use of his powers, I’ve never, ever seen any astrologer trying to time this moment!!

That’s why I've tracked this down for Donald Trump who has just sworn in for his second term in office. It was 2.15pm ET (see the source in comments) and below is the chart. It will show for what and how Trump will use his powers (including abuses, if any) in the next 4 year.

【Rectifying Luigi Mangione’s birth time】

I’ve been experimenting with this “reversed synastry” technique to rectify totally unknown birth times, and indeed in the case of Luigi Mangione, the alleged shooter of the UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, we have completely no idea at exactly what time he was born.

The shooting happened at 6.44am, December 4, in Manhattan, New York. The event chart has the MC in Virgo 25° 25’ and Mangione’s Moon in Virgo is actually pretty close-by (and unsurprisingly, his Pluto is conjunct the event's Asc too!)

If we fine-tune the time of birth in which the Moon would be just a little bit away from Virgo 25° 25’, that would give a Scorpio Rising chart, meaning he could be born in the evening! For the proposed natal chart, see comments below.

【Martial law fiasco in South Korea】

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol suddenly declared martial law late last night (Dec 3), but rolled it back after the National Assembly had rejected it unanimously.

We don’t have his birth time, so below, on the left, shows his Noon Chart with the recent New Moon in Sagittarius on Dec 1 .

The New Moon squared his Pluto and the Nodes in Virgo, sextiled his Venus in Aquarius.

On the right below shows the transits to his Noon Chart when he declared martial law on TV. Notice Jupiter is opposing his Mercury in Sag.

Since transiting Jupiter and Saturn are now moving towards an exact square again on Dec 25, Yoon's Mercury will be increasingly caught up in this mighty fight between the two giant planets... Stayed tuned!

【The Jupiter Return Chart】

For those of you who do look at Solar and Lunar Return Charts, have you ever tried looking at your Jupiter Return Charts??

It’s said that the Solar Return Chart (i.e. when the Sun annually returns to the exact same position in the zodiac when you were born) shows the major themes for a person in the next 12 months (well, I actually have my own reservations about such an interpretation, but that will be for another post!!), and the Lunar Return Chart shows your emotional landscape for the month ahead.

It’s therefore very surprising that nobody seems to have thought of looking at the Jupiter Return Chart to see where and how an individual will experience the greatest growth and “luck” in the next 12-year period!! (Because Jupiter returns to the same position at your birth, roughly every 12 years)

Let’s look at an example: Below shows the most recent Jupiter Return of Kamala Harris. She just had it on April 30 this year!

To generate the chart, we need to know where the individual is the moment transiting Jupiter returns to the same natal position.

I’ve googled and found that Harris was in Atlanta on April 29 and was in Florida on May 1, so I presumed she was back to Washington DC on April 30.

Her Jupiter in this chart is in the 12th house (just like her natal Jupiter), conjunct Uranus, trine the Moon (and Pluto) in the 9th, forming a Mini-grand Trine with Mars and Neptune at the apex in the 11th. That looks appropriate for someone championing, selflessly, for a social ideal…

【Debate synastry】

If you’ve been following the news about the US Presidential Election, you would know there was a debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump on Tuesday evening (US time zone). Viewers seem to agree in general that Harris did perform better and she “won”.

How to tell in advance whether a player will do well at a time- and location- specific event? We can do a “synastry” between the event and the players.

Take this debate as an example. We set the debate chart as the inner wheel and the player’s on the outer wheel, then check out how the player’s planets aspect the angles, especially by conjunction.

Even a mere glance will tell you Harris would dominate more than Trump at the debate! Her Moon falls on the Asc (though not in the same sign) and more importantly still, her Mercury is tightly conjunct the DC! Whereas for Trump, his planets are nowhere as close.

What does a player’s planets being conjunct the angles of an event mean? Whether in natal or event chart, the angles are like the “windows of a house”. If a player’s planet falls on the angles, that means their planet will be highlighted and get more attention at the event, for better or worse, depending on the nature of the planet!

Try out this technique more if you can!
