【Hong Kong's massive fire: An astro look】
I was born and bred here in Hong Kong and so I wanted to give my take on this worst fire ever happened in this city.
Basic facts first: A massive fire broke out at high-rise residential blocks in Tai Po, Hong Kong, on November 26. The Fire Services Department first received reports about it 2:51pm, local time.
For a chart drawn up based on this time, the Char Ruler, Mars in Sagittarius, is in the 8th house (house of crises and shared resources) and forms a very tight trine with the Ascendant, while simultaneously forming a tense square the Nodes.
This massive fire really illustrates what it means when Mars is square the North Node in Pisces (the lesson to be learned about the interconnectedness of everything) and the South Node in Virgo (the dire consequences of an overly-narrow focus). . .
When the fire was at its worst, 7 out of a total 8 high-rise blocks had caught fire. This was because the fire that had first started in one building was quickly spread to other blocks because of the strong wind and the highly flammable safety nets on the scaffolding of all the buildings. When one fell, the others fell like dominos too.
This is what we can see by just focusing at the event chart. But if we go deeper and cast a tri-wheel chart, placing the Hong Kong SAR chart in the innermost ring, adding its Solar Arc Directions in the middle ring and then the event chart as the transits in the outermost ring, we can see:
📍 Solar Arc (SA) Chiron is forming a trine with Hong Kong's North Node in Virgo in the 6th and the South Nodes in Pisces in the 12th, with SA Chiron is being conjunct by transiting Mercury
📍 This indicates a painful event is highlighting the importance of maintaining good, “daily operations of society”, like the inspection and regulation of all sorts of “nitty-gritty” details, for example, the use of fire resistant material in building maintenance projects, the tendering procedures for such projects, disaster relief, emergency rescue, public hygiene, smoking control, etc.
📍 SA MC is tightly conjunct Hong Kong's Neptune, triggered by transiting Uranus and Neptune. This indicates the shock and condolences from all levels of Hong Kong society, as well as from the Mainland Chinese and international community
📍 SA South Node has also been conjunct Hong Kong's Saturn. This implies the government will indeed face significant tests for its boldness, decisiveness and proactiveness during this period in tackling serious crises like this fire
