I extend my heartfelt prayers for the success of Global Peace Prayer Festival in Bhutan.
Since peace arises from the noble aspirations of sentient beings, such a gathering will surely bring immense blessings and create a lasting positive impact.
“I sincerely appreciate the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Honorable Prime Minister for extending the invitation to the Festival.”
I often recall the close relationship my parents shared with the third Druk Gyalpo, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. My late father Kyabje Bairo Rinpoche shared a profound priest-patron relationship with the great grand Queen Mother, Her Majesty Ashi Phuntsok Choden, and because of this, Bhutan is very close to my heart.
Although I am unable to attend in person, Gyalwa Dokhampa Rinpoche, Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche, other Drukpa Masters, together with 100 monks and nuns of the Drukpa Lineage from Ladakh, Garsha, Kinnaur, Nepal,Tibet and Vietnam will represent me and join this noble event. They will offer long life prayers for His Majesty the Fourth King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, emanation of Bodhisattva whose coming was prophesied by Guru Rinpoche, and His Holiness the 70th Je Khenpo, Trulku Jigme Chhoedra.
I am especially delighted that over 100 nuns of our lineage will be receiving the Gelongma vows, and that His Holiness the 70th Je Khenpo will bestow the Kalachakra initiation. Since the Nalanda tradition of the Kalacakra Ta**ra emanates directly or indirectly from Naropa, it has a profound connection with the Drukpa Lineage. I encourage everyone to receive this sacred empowerment, because it is truly a rare and precious opportunity to receive it from such a realized spiritual master such as His Holiness the Je Khenpo.
With my continuous prayers for the longevity, good health, and wellbeing of Their Majesties - the King and Queen of Bhutan - the Royal familes and for the peace and prosperity of the people of Drukyul — the last Vajrayana Dragon Kingdom.
- Gyalwang Drukpa
