Agenda:
I. Introduction and Practical Assessment Techniques
- What is Clinical Reasoning and why it is so critical in the service delivery?
- Overview of Low Back Pain in sports injuries
- Brief discussion on common causes and presentations (focus on practical relevance).
II. Hands-On Practical Assessment Techniques
- Demonstration of key assessment techniques:
- Tailored made questioning skills
- Observation skills
- Palpation for identifying key tissues and abnormalities
- Active/passive range of motion.
- Specific orthopedic tests (e.g., straight leg raise, slump test).
- **Practical Activity: Different case scenario given and break into pairs to practice assessment techniques with sound clinical reasoning behind
III. Manual Therapy Techniques
- Introduction to Manual Therapy
- Brief overview of manual therapy’s role in treating low back pain.
- Demonstration of Manual Therapy Techniques
- Techniques to be demonstrated:
- Soft tissue mobilization.
- Joint mobilizations (e.g., lumbar spine).
- Myofascial release.
- Practical Activity: Different case scenario given and break into pairs to practise selected manual therapy techniques in pairs.
IV. Case Demonstration and Group Practice
- Case Demonstration
- One real-life patient cases presented.
- Live assessment and clinical reasoning discussion about the case.
- Highlight decision-making processes in choosing treatment.
- Case Practice in Small Groups**
- Participants break into small groups with different scenarios.
- Each group assesses a provided case (role-playing both patients and therapists).
