Parium Puers 2013 has been visiting the paediatric ward in Tuen Mun Hospital and Wales Hospital on regular basis to provide support services and care for children patients. We plan activities, liaise with the Hospital to understand children’s needs together after the visit for continuous improvements and self-development. We hope the Parium Puers would grow with each other through serving and feeling for the Hospital Kids- not only to become Peers of the Child, but to be the light and inspiration of many others by leading them to serve.

🎄Summary of December Visit🎄
[2019-2020 Visit]

As Christmas is around the corner, our volunteers were excited to dress up in Christmas costumes🌟 to give surprises and bring joy to kids.

We have taught them how to make Christmas ornaments and played games together, sharing the moments of happiness in this festive season. The kids were so happy to have us to accompany them, and it was really touching to see they all wore a smile and engage in the hands-on activities so much.

We will strive for our best and make every effort to bring happiness to kids in the future!!!😍

🍀🌻A New Journey: Summary of November Visit🌻🍀
[2019-2020 DKCH Visit 1]

This is a new journey for PPP because we started a new volunteer service in The Duchess of Kent Children’s Hospital [DKCH] at Sandy Bay. We had a training session with Pastor Wong. The theme of this training session was “Understanding Ourselves, Concerning the Patients”. Pastor Wong shared with us his past experiences on how he interacted with the patients. We had to know ourselves well to devise our best personal tactics to approach patients. After all, the key message would be to concern their needs by attending to both their words and feelings.

We grow a lot after this training session. To concern, to love, to share happiness with children; that’s the foremost reason we started PPP. For the next training session, we are going to focus on empathy. We wish that we can bring positiveness and joy in DKCH very soon!

🧟‍♀🎃Summary of November Visit🎃🧟‍♀
[2019-2020 Visit 1]

The theme of this visit is “Halloween”. We made handicrafts of ghosts and bats, and spent an unforgettable day with lovely kids. When we left, the father of a kid came to us and wanted us to come over again, because he wanted to see her daughter smile when making handicrafts. This is also why we started PPP, and wished to gather as many devoted volunteers as possible. We wish that we can continue bringing positivity and joy to children next time!

🐦🌳Summary of March Visit🌳🐦
[2018-2019 5th Visit]

What’s good that comes after the mid-term week? Springtime! So we just kindly brought it to the ward last Saturday!

We folded trees, albatross, hearts and so on. Nice to see that the wards were a bit empty but we did enjoy talking about the birds and nature with the kids🐌🐞

If we had no winter, the spring would not be that pleasant. (Anne Bradstreet). Let’s hope that everyone can enjoy the freshness of spring:)🥰💚❤

🏞🥩Summary of December Visit 1🥩🏞
[2018-2019 Third Visit]

We were pleased to be invited to 小合桃俱樂部聖誕開心團2018 which gathers young survivors of illnesses of Tuen Mun Hospital.

In this gathering, we played mass games with parents and children, twisted balloons and finally had barbeque together in Yuen Long! We all enjoyed roasting different kinds of delicious food and singing Christmas carols during this festive gathering!

We also chatted with some families and knew that the activities really cheered them up! This further reaffirms PPP's missions and we wish we can continue bringing an impact next time!

Once again, we would like to thank Tuen Mun Hospital and other volunteers in partner 小合桃俱樂部聖誕開心團2018 for their kind invitation and collaboration.

🎃Summary of November Visit🎃
[2018-2019 Second Visit]

The theme of this visit is “Halloween”. We made mini-skull models with the children using straws. Designing different patterns of balloons together, we hope that they will not only enjoy the Halloween atmosphere but also hold on to a positive attitude towards life with our support and care.

We also gave small gifts to the children to build a mutual trust and connection between us. Besides, we learned and enjoyed interacting with children. We believe that we all had a great time!

We wish that we can continue bringing positivity and joy to children next time.

Since the orientation, I found that PPP was a very interesting and meaningful organization which can bring love and hope to young patients. I am always looking forward to participate in this kind of activity. On one hand, it is a voluntary work that can help others and share our experience with others to make the children not feel lonely on fighting against such diseases. On the other hand, especially for students like me who do not come from Hong Kong, it is a good way to learn more about the city which is not easy to be seen. In most people’s eyes including us, Hong Kong is such a prosperous metropolis and everyone enjoys this kind of city life. But in fact, it is a total misunderstanding of this city. In poor areas of the city, many people are still struggling and living a hard life. At first, I was wondering whether the children like our activities or not, but after the social worker’s patient instructions, I tried to understand things on children’s position and tried my best to give them an unforgettable experience. At the same time, through involving in these activities, we have got the chance to help others by using what we majored in and make our knowledge benefit more to the society.

For instance, in the first visit, I and Zita spent most of time accompanying with the little baby who hasn’t seen her parents since her birth. Though she is so young that she cannot speak clearly, we can feel that she is happy and she really enjoyed our accompany. We really hope that her pain will be released a little and she will have a happy life in the future.
