Endometriosis is a devastating disease for women! It causes so much pain and could destroy the life of the patients and their families. We should be aware of this disease and do not dismiss the patient’s complaint. With that being said not all women when they have pelvic pain they have endometriosis.

The reproductive cause of pelvic pain only accountable for 20%-25%.
There is the urinary system, gastrointestinal system and neuromuscular system they are all in the pelvis. Each anatomical system accountable for about about 25% of the cause of pelvic pain.

However, this is what we were taught in school to make A single diagnosis, and treat a single organ system.

Our nervous system doesn’t act that way. When there is severe pain, the pain signal spread to so many other nerves, It is like when flooding occurs it spreads everywhere. You have to treat all the organs system and no single treatment to single organ systems would be beneficial.

When there is a fire in the neighborhood, it could turn into a inferno of a neighborhood. Putting fire off in one house could not save the neighborhood. Surgery is not always the answer. However, when it is needed do a good one.

It has been many months since I left Canton Mercy; I spent the time writing a scientific paper, and I found a hospital system that will really support and value my mission and vision to provide the best of care to many patients with Chronic Pelvic Pain, Pudendal neuralgia, endometriosis IC/PBS (painful bladder syndrome)and urogynecology.

I will be starting on October 1st in West Virginia University Medicine, Wheeling and Reynolds Memorial Hospital.
I will be working with my Colleague Dr Morano who also left Canton Mercy. Together we are excited to care for all of our patient’s needs.
