Chenxuan is a bubbly, outgoing fourteen-year old with Down syndrome. As a child who experienced abandonment, we first welcomed her into our care in 2019, and she is a beloved member of our Enquan Yuan family.

As well as being a hard-working and committed student, Chenxuan is also an accomplished dancer. On Children's Day this year, she danced on stage in a special performance, and received a huge applause and well-deserved praise from the audience. Dance is a hobby that brings her great joy, and it was a brilliant end to the month of dedicated rehearsals. We're so proud of her!

Yibin is a young boy with cerebral palsy who lives with his family in Changsha. Our team has had the joy of working with him and his family since 2021. His mother shared, “I am so grateful to FPP. Not only have they provided Binbin with professional services and therapy, but they have also brought me hope as well. It is difficult to fully express the depth of my gratitude. Because FPP exists, I have felt warmth and can now see hope!”

This Summer, in partnership with the China Disabled Persons' Welfare Foundation and Hunan Provincial Disabled Persons' Welfare Foundation, we were able to provide Yibin with a specialized LT14 wheelchair. The foundation also helped to provide support and training for parents on wheelchair use. This wheelchair will have a profound impact on Yibin's life, providing greater support, ease of movement and independence.

In November 2023, we welcomed Songhui into our Enquan Yuan family. Upon arrival, Songhui underwent a medical assessment, which revealed severe malnutrition. During the day, Songhui's mental state was poor, often drowsy, with very little active communication or verbal expression.

After nearly two months of ICC's careful care, Songhui's weight increased from 12kg to 17.2kg. Her medication was adjusted and our staff developed a customised therapy and special education plan for her. She grew healthier and stronger every day.

Now, almost two years later, Songhui is happy and joyous, full of energy. She smiles often, and has a great sense of curiosity, eagerly interacting with and observing her surroundings each day. When she interacts with others, she makes eye contact. During class, when the teacher plays music, she will sway her body to the rhythm or hum along. She has a great interest in music. While her journey has not always been easy, ICC has been with her every step of the way.

Because of your generosity and support, our teams are able to bring vital therapy, special education and social work support directly to children's homes. Your donations also help children and young adults access essential therapy equipment. Junhao received a customised wheelchair, and his father has shared the profound impact this has had on their lives. Junhao was also more talkative and engaged during the most recent visit with our team, which brought the team great joy, and they took the opportunity to invite him and his father to next year's Ability Camp.

Thanks to compassionate donors like you, children and young adults like Junhao have access to equipment and services they urgently need. Thank you.

We were blessed to be able to host an ICC Ability Camp this year in Jiangyong Province. The families we serve in Jiangyong live in a remote, rural area of Hunan, and many children with disabilities living in this community struggle to access essential therapy and education services. Our Ability Camp this year, centred around the theme "Let's Go Camping!," was a unique opportunity for children and their families to gather together to play games, make crafts, have water gun fights, and make memories that would last a lifetime. On October 7th, Feiyang will have his first day as a university student! Our Outreach Team has been supporting him and his family since he was in junior high school, and we are incredibly proud of this new milestone he has reached. Originally from Shaoyang, his parents moved to Changsha City in order to seek medical treatment for Feiyang, who needed several surgeries on his legs. They rented a small room near the hospital, and remained completely committed to doing whatever they could to give Feiyang a better life.

In all the years our Outreach Team has been working with Feiyang, he has remained a diligent, hard-working student, always focused on his education, despite his various health challenges. To have supported him through this journey, and now witness him begin his university career, is a true blessing. Because of your support of ICC's work, you have helped us make Feiyang's dream a reality. Thank you!
