I'd find a piece of cloth that feels nice, and stroke it for hours. I don't know how I never gained any weight, cos I nibbled and snacked through my entire teens and 20s, and then, when my skin would break out, there was another thing for me to pick on. Gross, I know, but I have restless hands, and what's to be done about that? One day, I looked around my home, and realised I've been collecting "trash" since I was a child: pretty rocks from the beach, driftwood, discarded and broken glass, jewellery and clothing - I desperately longed to give them a new breath of life, but didn't have the confidence, and didn't know how. I took a leap of faith, and regardless of all the obstacles, I decided to start. Each day I did a little, and piece by piece, I found release, meaning, purpose, and my art. It's therapeutic, it's creative, and over time it has turned my life's passion to reveal beauty in the abandoned, rejected, and "ugly", into a small home business - against all the friendly warnings, against all odds. I'm a full-time mum to 4-year-old Stela, and 2-year-old Roko, and my husband is a handyman, who's not shy to chip in with childcare, and in my workshop. My mum and dad go for walks by the beach and bring back little 'treasures' in need of TLC. My kids pick wild flowers and inspire so many of my creations. My sister, sister-in-law, my nieces - everyone is involved! It's a family venture, and I'm very proud to present you with the fruits of our labour. I hope you will enjoy it too.
