BNPS will be postponing the March 27-29 Fomè Fomate in order to minimize the potential spread of COVID-19. I am trying to do my part to social distance, and, based on the general consensus, I do not think it would be wise for me to travel from the US to Haiti at this time. I am hopeful that we will be able to reschedule it by the end of April if the Coronavirus pandemic is controlled by then.

This is super important. The quality of medical education is a vital resource to the patients served. UHM is raising the bar for medicine in Haiti and we are eager to support them in nutrition education resources when we can. Beautiful work, PIH! Keep it up!

Support the Train-the-Trainer Workshop! It is very important to us to make this training accessible to the organizations who need it. They are paying $75 per attendee and we only have room for 8 to participate. In order to make it effective, we need to keep the group small.

We all worked together to make the nurses' training a reality and so much has already grown out of that! We are excited to offer a training for non-medical staff in order to bring this life-giving information to communities and families in Haiti.

Teams that veggie prep together stay together. Isn’t that how the saying goes? ***** The BNPS team had an amazing time together this past week. As part of our preparation to teach cooks about nutrition, we prepared a meal together using a ton of local veggies! These trainings require focused information and teaching techniques, so we’re developing specific curriculum for different professions. ***** At this meeting, we saw how much we can get done when we have just one day together, so it is so important that we can do this regularly. Meet Bettyna Exantus. Bettyna works with Laman Outreach in a rural area north of Port-au-Prince. She humbly and tirelessly works with the sick and elderly in their health and hypertension programs. Equipped with her BNPS education, she also conducts nutrition classes for groups in their community. Everyone needs a Bettyna on their team. She is such a bright light! ✨✨✨ 📷

I ( Rachael) was scheduled to present at the Family Presentation Symposium in PAP Nov 15-16, but due to political instability the Symposium has been postponed until early 2019. I still have my tickets to Haiti and am wondering if anyone would like to get together Friday the 16th while I am there and discuss your organizations needs for nutrition education to see how we can support you.
