Meet Golden Crescent-MOMS Program Manager Kat Muñoz-Hickl

An advocate for Hispanic families, Kat holds a Master’s in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University. With 8 years of experience in social services, she has supported diverse groups, including the homeless and survivors of abuse. As the Program Manager for Golden Crescent MOMS under Texas A&M College of Nursing, Kat leads a team of Maternal Child Health Navigators. She is currently serving her fourth year as the Secretary on the Board of Directors for Promise Pointe. Born and raised in Victoria, Kat is a devoted wife and mother of two, passionately empowering her community.

Hi there! We’re Golden Crescent-MOMS, and today we’re excited to introduce our team and share what our program is all about.

GC-MOMS is a free educational home-visiting program supporting pregnant women, postpartum mothers and families in the Golden Crescent area of southeastern Texas. Our team consists of several maternal-child health navigators who are passionate about connecting with moms and meeting them where they are in their journey—whether they’re expecting, adjusting to a newborn or caring for growing children.

Victoria agencias coordinar con la Cruz Roja Americana para abrir habitaciones seguras

La Oficina de Victoria de Gestión de Emergencias y sus agencias asociadas están coordinando con la Cruz Roja Americana para operar habitaciones seguras en el St. Joseph High School Flyer Dome (1110 E. Red River St.) Y la cúpula Bloomington ISD (200 N. Leonard St.) Durante la tormenta tropical Beryl (se espera que se convierta en huracán Beryl).

Los residentes de la ciudad y del condado que necesiten protegerse de los vientos con fuerza de tormenta tropical o de huracán podrán refugiarse en los refugios a partir de las 15.00 horas del domingo.
La Cruz Roja Americana gestionará el refugio con la ayuda de otros organismos.
Victoria Transit ofrecerá un servicio de lanzadera desde Christ's Kitchen (611 E. Warren Ave.) hasta el Flyer Dome. El servicio de transporte comenzará a las 15.00 horas del domingo y continuará según sea necesario.

Victoria agencies coordinate with American Red Cross to open safe rooms

The Victoria Office of Emergency Management and its partner agencies are coordinating with the American Red Cross to operate safe rooms at the St. Joseph High School Flyer Dome (110 E. Red River St.) and the Bloomington ISD dome (200 N. Leonard St.) during Tropical Storm Beryl (expected to become Hurricane Beryl).

City and County residents who need protection from tropical-storm-force or hurricane-force winds will be able to take refuge at the shelters beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday.
The American Red Cross will operate the safe room with assistance from other agencies.
Victoria Transit will operate a shuttle service from Christ’s Kitchen (611 E. Warren Ave.) to the Flyer Dome. The shuttle service will start at 3 p.m. Sunday and continue as needed.
