We are proud to highlight a new study published in the Injury Journal that evaluates the effectiveness of the Chrisofix® Rib splint for treating patients with rib fractures.

The research found that patients in the case group experienced significant benefits, including:

🔻 Lower pain levels at the first & third months post-injury.
🔻 A shorter average hospital stay (2.0 days vs. 2.7 days for the control group).

ℹ️ Did you know injuries can develop slowly from everyday hobbies like gardening 🌱, gaming, or even opening a stubborn jar?

They're called overuse injuries — the "sneaky" kind that build up from repetitive stress without enough recovery. Common examples include runner's knee and tennis elbow.

How to avoid them?
▪️ Warm up & cool down
▪️ Start new activities slowly
▪️ Use correct techniques
▪️ Vary your activities
▪️ Prioritize rest & recovery

If the pain persists, it's time to see a physiotherapist, who will treat the root of the injury with corrective exercises ⚕️ Often, using orthopedic devices can also support healing.

As summer comes to an end, so does our , leaving us with a final question:

Do you have to stop playing high-impact sports, like tennis, if you have arthritis? 🥎

The quick sprints and jumps in tennis are high-impact, but that doesn't mean you need to stop playing. In fact, research suggests the opposite may be true.

💡A 12-month Finnish study on 80 women with knee osteoarthritis found that progressively implemented high-impact exercise helped improve cartilage quality and bone integrity.

The goal isn't quitting your favorite sport and sitting on the couch, but playing smarter ⤵️

➖ Use resistance training to build the muscles around your joints (quads, glutes, hamstrings).
➖ Play on softer surfaces (clay or grass) to reduce impact.
➖ Play doubles to cover less ground and reduce overall joint strain.

How to become an "office athlete"? with top-notch posture? 🤸

Sitting for 8+ hours a day can lead to Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSIs), even with the best equipment. The most well-known is carpal tunnel syndrome, resulting in repetitive typing. Neck, shoulder, and back pain are also common.

These issues often start small but can become serious if ignored. Protect yourself with these three moves:

💻 Adjust your setup: Position your monitor at eye level to keep your neck straight.

🪑 Support your posture: Ensure your chair and keyboard allow for a neutral, relaxed position.

🚶 MOVE: This is the most important! Take short, active breaks every hour to walk and stretch.

Balneotherapy uses the mineral content of water to treat chronic conditions like arthritis.

🔬 A Hungarian study found that knee osteoarthritis patients using Lake Hévíz thermal water had significant improvements in pain and function, with positive effects still present 15 weeks post-treatment (Kulisch et al., 2014).

Countries like Hungary, Germany, and Turkey are renowned for their thermal resources 📍 Budapest is a prime example - referred as the “Spa Capital of the World,” it sits on nearly 125 springs.

This shows that solutions for chronic joint pain can be found in nature.
