✨Follow feeling over thinking ✨
Yoga~ through meditation, movement, stillness, mindfulness, conscious breathing and living thoughtfully~ without sounding dramatic, truly saved my life
Connecting to, and truly feeling through it and all my senses, has brought me back home to myself and to the joy of living 💛
For many years by body became my enemy, when it should be your friend
I was disconnected from it
My thoughts dominant- clouding any natural intuitions with thick black fog, due to prior learnt experiences, pressure, expectations, “I should’s” and “I should not’s”…
I became numb to protect myself, fleeing from uncomfortable emotions and sensations in my body, through various coping mechanisms
Being numb to and escaping our feelings, we lose life itself…
It passes us by with all its beautiful varying shades of colour, and these precious moments and years in our short time on this earth, we cannot get back
✨Yoga came into my life at the time I needed it the most
Whilst unbearable at times, I practiced sitting with myself…
~ With stillness, I dropped into my body, feeling into it and the emotions and sensations present
~ With breath, I soothed and welcomed them, allowing them to exist and be~ their heaviness and influence being lesser
~ With movement (guided by the breath), I let them flow through me, expressed in physical form by the body
~ My senses were alive, I was reconnecting to my bodies natural guidance system as well as the beauty of the world around me with deep gratitude
I urge you to say hello to your feelings, rather than run from them
I urge you to make peace with your body, your biggest knowledge and guidance system for life
Your body is your home for the time we have here, and I can only hope by sharing this with you, that you are able to make it a loving one🏡
