Why do we repeat the same sequence?or repeat the poses within a sequence ??

In Iyengar Yoga, repetition is not accidental.
It is intentional.

The first time you perform a sequence,
you establish the form.

You place the foot.
You lift the arm.
You manage the block.

The action is done—
but not yet understood.

The second time, something changes.

You begin to feel:
Which shoulder is closing.
Which elbow is bending.
Where the breath shortens.

This is where practice begins.

The difference is subtle, but decisive:
Performance asks:
Did I complete the pose?

Practice asks:
What did I observe?

Repeating the basics is not a step backward.
It is the moment
when the body begins to speak
and the practitioner begins to listen.

By maintaining flexibility in the joints and muscles, we make space in the areas that are vital for the health of the lower back, pelvis, and organic body.

Enjoy all the health benefits that develop and as a result of this subtle practice. The breath will naturally become quieter, and more lengthened. This longer, deeper breath moves to the lower pelvis which aligns the organic body. As a result, the mind is then able to let go of tension and stress.

This week's focus is to gain a deeper understanding across various asana groups, including standing, forward bending, seated, back extensions, twists, and inversions. By integrating strength and mobility, we'll foster a sense of safety that promotes calmness in both body and mind, allowing us to connect at a deeper level.

1️⃣ A reminder that Saturday Back Health class will run 8:00–9:30 AM for February and March.

2️⃣ We will be closed on March 19th for Nyepi (Bali's Day of Silence)

3️⃣ If you're unable to attend the full 8-weekend program, drop-ins are available subject to space. Pre-booking required.
