Reiki Level 2, often considered the “Practitioner” level, will deepen your connection to the Reiki energy and increase your ability to facilitate healing. You will be introduced to three of the sacred Reiki symbols — each with its own specific energy and purpose: enhancing power, emotional and mental healing, and the ability to send healing across distances and time. With the introduction of these three symbols, Reiki Level 2 focuses on healing emotional and mental issues in addition to physical ailments. There will be a 50/50 balance between theory and practice and you will have the opportunity to give and receive both a chakra balancing and distance Reiki session.

✨ In the past few months, I have started moving my meditation practice more towards Zen meditation and have experienced some very profound shifts in energy.

📖 The book Practical Zen: Meditation and Beyond by Julian Daizan Skinner has been really useful in guiding me on this journey (along with the beautiful audio recordings for each practice).

🌀 There are some interesting chapters on duality and non-duality, strengthening your hara, and meditating with a koan, which will also be of interest to Reiki practitioners (or anyone interested in learning Reiki).

✨ What does Reiki feel like?

The most common feeling that you will experience during a Reiki session is a deep sense of calm and inner peace 🌺

You may also feel sensations of heat or coolness, especially in the areas where I place my hands. You may experience tingling or pulsating in and around the body, or see colours or visions. You may release suppressed emotions or negative thought patterns, which will enable you to positively shift the way you think, feel, and function in the world. You may also just simply fall asleep.

Whatever happens, whatever you feel, the Reiki energy will help you balance on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level for your highest and greatest good 🌱

✨ When a person receives Reiki energy, it is like having a light shined on the body to make it aware of the energy that is not serving it. The Rei (or spiritually conscious part of the energy) assesses where the person has byoki (unhealthy Ki) and then directs the healing energy to it.

🪷 The Reiki energy then works to release the blocked energy of the negative thoughts and feelings that have created the byoki and are preventing the flow of healthy Ki. By flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and recharging them with positive energy, Reiki raises the vibratory level in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached.

🌱 In so doing, Reiki clears and rebalances the energy pathways (chakras, meridians, and nadis) thus allowing healthy Ki to flow in a natural way. Sometimes the entire field of blocking energy is lifted up to a higher level of consciousness where it is processed. Once healthy Ki is flowing naturally, the physical organs and tissues are able to complete their healing process, and harmony on all levels can be restored 🌺
