Want proof massage actually works? Here’s what Muireann had to say about it🖊️ :

I had recently bought a new horse and. I found that, in the first couple of weeks she wasn’t moving and bending as well as she should be. It was suggested to me to get her massaged. Sarah was recommended by a friend, I made an appt and Sarah got back to me promptly. As soon as Sarah started working on my horse it was noticeable that she was relieving tension throughout her body. After just one session she was already moving better and very happy through all her paces and our dressage scores went from being in the high thirties to sub twenties. I’ve had two more sessions since and cannot speak highly enough of Sarah, she was thorough and professional and took her time working. Over all I found the massage worked magic on my horse and would strongly suggest booking a session.

Muireann and her mare have had 3 remedial sessions over the course of the last few months and it has been great to hear improvements like these. Relieving tension and promoting better movement is what it’s all about❤️‍🩹

Delighted to hear feedback like this and if you think your horse will benefit why not book a session and find out📖🐴

🐎Competing is mentally taxing — massage calms the nervous system, reducing anxiety and allowing your horse to stay more relaxed and focused in the arena.

Promotes circulation and lymphatic drainage, helping flush out metabolic waste and reduce muscle soreness after exertion. Great for horses in back-to-back events or multi-day competitions.🏋️‍♀️

Regular massage helps identify tight spots, asymmetries, or strain early — before they turn into injuries. Keeps muscles balanced and joints moving freely, reducing the risk of pulls or strains.💪

Please dm me for any more information or availability😊

💪Trapezius muscle💪
The trapezius might not be glamorous, but it’s essential!

Horses with tight shoulders or high head carriage often benefit from targeted release work here.

⚙️ Function:
• Elevates and rotates the scapula (shoulder blade)
• Assists with shoulder and forelimb movement
• Helps maintain head and neck posture
• Supports flexion and extension of the neck and forehand

🤕Signs of trapezius tension:
• Horse resists grooming or tacking near the withers
• Shortened front limb stride
• Difficulty bending or turning the neck
• Tight or twitchy reaction to touch along the upper neck and shoulder

⛑️The trapezius often carries tension from:
• Poor saddle fit
• Overuse or strain during riding or training
• Compensation for lameness or discomfort elsewhere
• Carrying the head high or hollowing the back

If your horse is experiencing these symptoms it may be time for a bodywork session! Don’t hesitate to get in touch for an appointment📩📩

☀️With the heat we are expecting over the next few days keeping your horse cool in hot weather is crucial for its health and performance. Here are effective ways to help your horse stay cool:

🌤️Provide Shade and Shelter

Ensure your horse has access to shaded areas (trees, shelters, stables).

🌤️Hydration is Key

Always offer fresh, cool water. Horses may drink more when it’s warm.

Add electrolytes to the water or feed if the horse is sweating heavily.

🌤️Adjust Workload and Timing

Exercise early in the morning or late in the evening when it’s cooler.

Reduce intensity and duration of workouts during extreme heat.

🌤️Cool-Down Techniques

Hose the horse down with cool (not ice-cold) water, focusing on large blood vessels—neck, chest, and legs.

🌤️Monitor Signs of Heat Stress

Look for excessive sweating, lethargy, rapid breathing, or stumbling.

Call a vet immediately if heatstroke is suspected.

Is your horse on box rest? Or recently suffered an injury and has limited turnout during its healing process?🤕

Massage can be a great add on for your healing process..🏥

•Massage can be highly beneficial for a horse on box rest, helping to support both physical and mental well-being during limited movement.

•It promotes circulation, which helps prevent stiffness and muscle atrophy, and encourages lymphatic drainage to reduce swelling or fluid buildup.

•Massage also relieves muscle tension, eases compensatory strain from uneven weight-bearing, and provides a calming, stress-relieving effect that can help reduce boredom and anxiety.

•Overall, it’s a gentle, non-invasive way to support healing and maintain comfort during recovery.😷
