Half Ironman National Championships happening this coming weekend, where we have a big group of athletes racing.
But we've been busy with some great 70.3/Half Ironman performances already this season.

Liz Shouldice kicked off the season with Valencia 70.3
Daire Power had a fantastic PB race in Venice 70.3 narrowly missing out on a sub 5hr time.
At Mallorca 70.3, Eva Mazur set another PB, and Eimear H***e raced to a course best time.
Aisling McElroy raced to a fantastic PB finish time at Challenge Salou.
At the new Tours 70.3 in France, Gina Lyons raced a massive PB race, while clubmate Ciara Mac Callum also had a PB race.
While closer to home John Mc Dermott and Conor Eannetta tackled the challanging Sheephaven Half.

Congratulations to all who have raced already this season, and the best of luck to everyone toeing the line this Sunday.

Let's be honest, we're f**king brutal at it!!

Meanwhile, have been tearing up the race circuit over the last while.
Since the last update we've had the Wicklow 200, James Mc Manus Sprint, Schull Fastnet, Quarryman Sprint, Tri the Orchard, Tribesman Sprint and National Aquabike, Sheephaven Half and Sprint, Beyond the Wall, Hell of the West, Harbourman, and the National Sprint Championships at Two Provinces, Ironman Vitoria Gasteiz and the Gait 12hr Ultra Marathon.

Athletes have secured 4 National AG Golds, multiple AG wins, even more AG podiums, 1 race win, 2 second placed and 1 4th placed overall!!

Still alot of racing to be done this year, and podiums from and our athletes, and hopefully better promotion of their endeavours!!

Coaching we are good at! Social media we are not!

A busy weekend of racing for with athletes racing all types of distances all over the world!

At Tri-Athy, Liz Shouldice, Barbara Tobin and Gerard Turbitt all got their National Series campaigns off to a flying start with all three athletes winning their AG in the Standard Distance Triathlon.
John Byrne seems to be recovering well from Ironman Lanzarote with a solid race in the T-100 distance.

Up in Cavan at the James Mc Manus Sprint Triathlon, Laura Fitzpatrick kick started her Triathlon goals for the season with an AG win, while Laura Colhoun narrowly missed out on an AG Podium.
Conor Eannetta was also in action keeping a watchful eye on his daughter round the course.

Over in San Francisco, Shane O Leary was racing the Iconic Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon. Rough seas with strong currents, a hilly bike and a mixed terrain run over a beach and the infamous Sand Ladder makes this a bucket list race for many (including myself!)

Also over in Tours in France, Gina Lyons and Ciara Mac Callum had fantastic races over the 70.3 distances, both posting PBs, Gina with a fantastic 5hrs 15mins and Ciara in 6hrs 23mins

have been all over the World (and Belfast) running some of the Major Marathons.

Siobhan Doran travelled over to Tokyo to chalk off another Major in March.
Laura Colhoun was over in Boston in April, running one of my favourite marathons.
Gemma Skeath set a marathon PB running the London Marathon.
Patricia Kennedy also ran the London Marathon and then the following week also crossed the line of the Belfast Marathon! No bother to ya Patricia!

We've also had plenty of athletes racing half marathons this year from Vienna, Seville to closer to home in Omagh and Strabane.

Another competitive National Duathlon Series finished up last month and the overall standings have been finalised.

A fantastic well done to Roisin Kelleher from Limerick Triathlon Club who took 2nd place overall. Showing massive improvement from last season, Roisin won two races to claim the second step on the Series Podium and AG.

Not to be outdone, Fingals Barbara Tobin also claimed a bronze medal in her AG.

It's been a busy season already and focus has moved on to a packed Triathlon Series.

Last Saturday, we had 3 athletes take on the challenge that is Ironman Lanzarote. Known as one of the toughest Ironman distances races for its heat, hills (over 2500m of climbing) and wind, makes for a tough day at the office. And how the winds blew last week, with athletes fighting headwind and crosswinds all day!!

John Byrne led the troops home with a fantastic time of 12hrs 36mins considering very limited running in the lead up with a foot injury. John also collected his special medal for his 6th Lanzarote finish!

Strabanes John Mc Dermott was next home with a 14hrs 11mins finish time, chalking off a major bucket list race.

Jenny Elliott York suffered from bad stomach issues on the run but held on for a course PB time of 15hrs 22mins.

Some team!! And well done all!

Massive congratulations to Gerard Turbitt, who took 3rd place in his AG last week at the European Aquabike Championships in Pamplona, Spain.

Originally intending on doing the Middle Distance changed over to the Aquabike due to a running injury.

This is the start of another busy season for The Tiger!

Ironman announced the end of the two-day format when the 2026 Ironman World Championship returns entirely to Hawaii.

Another brilliant training camp completed in Lanzarote with Oliver Harkin.
We're 12 years running these camps now and still loving every minute of them.
A fantastic week of training with a brilliant group of athletes and this island never disappoints.
Even with a high volume of training there's still loads of down time to chill out relax and have a bit of craic.
Wishing all the athletes the best of luck with their training and racing for the season ahead.

Looking forward to the Mallorca camp already!!

The 2025 Triathlon Ireland Duathlon Series kicked off last Saturday with the Tramore Duathlon and are off to a flying start with Roisin Kelleher finishing 3rd female overall.

After a solid 1st run, Roisin biked her way up to 2nd position which she held for the majority of the last run but was bumped into 3rd in the final stages of the race.

Races are starting to come thick and fast again with some ultra running action this weekend
