We are pleased to announce that Carrick-on-Suir Family Practice will be relocating to the Primary Care Centre on the 31st of January 2025. This
modern clinic will allow us to provide GP services in a safe environment forstaff and patients alike.
It’s important to note that the way the practice will operate going forward is going to change so we can provide a more efficient, safer and effective service for our patients.
We will endeavour to keep you up to date with the
changes and are pleased to announce that we will shortly be launching a dedicated website that will allow you to interact with the surgery digitally. Our page already gives updates on some of these changes occurring.
The surgery phone number will remain the same: 051 641059
We will operate a modern phone system with multiple lines and options.
Please note that all calls may be recorded for training and quality purposes.
We will shortly be launching a dedicated email address for prescriptions as well as a dedicated line that’s available between the hours of 11.00 and
13.00. Please allow 48 hours for us to process the prescription request as each prescription must be checked and sent by a doctor or nurse prescriber.
Appointments can only be made via telephone, we will no longer be able to accept walk in patients and patients who present to the surgery without an
appointment will be asked to ring for an appointment. Please remember that we only have so many appointments per day, and it is sometimes not possible to see everyone that wants to be seen that day.
In order to increase capacity and to ensure we can deal with more patients, requests for acute/same day appointments will be triaged by telephone by a
member of the clinical team. This is why it’s essential that we have the right contact details for you.
Please note as part of ensuring we have the right patient on our system our reception staff will ask for details like name, date of birth, address and a brief description of the problem as some issues can be dealt with by a member of our nursing team who have undertaken advanced training to see and prescribe for many common conditions.
Some issues can be sorted via telephone, others will require a face to face appointment or we
may ask you to have some tests done before coming in for review, the doctor
or nurse will discuss with you the plan of care.
We thank you for you cooperation.
