I will always remember the moment I met Uisne, asleep on the couch on the threshold of Solstice.
Seeing him leaping about so wild and free, my soul felt assured that something was going to be changed by his presence.
As the years have passed, I have continued to meet this truly Wild Irish Family, and each time there has been a strong transmission, an ancient remembrance from the realness, the raw and the sheer love for this land.
One of my memories with Éiriú in the Burren for a retreat will always stay with me, a wise old soul gracing us women with her presence. It was so precious to have such a young woman amongst us as we prepared to sweat our prayers and sing our songs into the earth. There she was wise beyond her years, glowing with a purity and innocence that could only be a catalyst beyond my wildest ideas.
Singing with her as I held her in my arms, I felt her presence call me deeper into the prayer that I came here with.
Since seeing this vision and timely opportunity for Siobhan de Paor, Diarmuid Lyng and Family (Éirú, Uisne & Tuireann) to become guardians of this land in Kilkenny coming into play for this family, I feel a deep sense of hope and promise.
This is a powerful moment for our Muintir na hÉireann (The People of Ireland).
The ember of ‘Teacht Aniar' is surely a beacon upon these lands at a time of great unrest in many parts of the world, a sanctuary where a bright hearth fire will be tended, a home place to reclaim, remember and reignite the sparks within the many who long for this kind of homecoming.
Some words from the Wild Irish Family about this fís (vision) of Teacht Aniar.
"We have been given an extraordinary opportunity to buy the house and land in South Kilkenny before it goes on the open market. Here we will create a unique Irish Language and Culture Centre, the first of its kind in Ireland.
To date, we have helped hundreds of people to reconnect with the Irish language, our heritage and the holy ground beneath our feet. Now we need help to raise €125,000 of the €260,000 offer we've made, in a short space of time.
With the purchase of this place we will be able to respond to the great demand that we have encountered from people:
to learn heritage/survival skills
to speak Irish in the everyday, outside of an institutional setting
to gather together in community celebrations.
We're calling it: ‘Teach Aniar’ (lit. ‘coming from the west’) , the Irish word for ‘Resilience’. It aptly describes our journey from the remote western Gaeltacht of Corca Dhuibhne to our native ‘ceantar’. Having rediscovered and refined our Gaeilge, we have carried it home like an ember in the pocket, ag lorg an tinteán chun é a lagadh síos (seeking the hearth to set in).

And so with this in Heart, I am coming forth to offer a special day out on land in the West of Ireland on my ancestral homelands of County Clare.
This will be a day of ceremony, song and land connection where you will be guided across the threshold and into some of the wild, raw places that I hold dear to my Heart, and are sure to evoke a spark of remembrance within your own bones.
Coming Home to your own Heart through the ancient places, gathering seaweed, connecting with the waters, drawing from the well, igniting a fire in honour of your ancestors, singing and praying in the language of Gaeilge, are just some of the elements that can be woven into this special day all of which we can explore together on a call.
This unique day, tailored to your needs will be held in August / September 2025 or can be arranged for a later date if preferred.
Sliding Scale special offering of €400 - €600 is the suggested donation of which 100% will go directly to the Wild Irish Fundraiser.
*Accommodation & local lunch can also be arranged with advance notice at an additional cost.*
For those whom the above offering may not be possible, I am also open to work in a one to one capacity with me online over 3/6 weeks - sessions taking place over Zoom.
Receive 3 / 90 minute - 1:1 sessions weaving song, somatics, ancestral connection, dreamtime journeys rooted in yoga nidra woven with the landscape, lineage and language of Ireland for just €330 - special limited offer for this fundraiser!
Both options are available to anyone who feels the call, in support of the Teacht Aniar vision of the Wild Irish Retreat.
To take the next step please write to me: shannonsoulsounds@gmail.com and book a one to one call to chat about which offer you would like as well as any additional needs you may have.
Once we have tuned in and decided how we can work together - you can make the donation directly to Teacht Aniar as the exchange.
Alternatively, if you would like to support this vision but for whatever reason don't resonate with the above offerings you can pop over to the Wild Irish Fundraiser page where there are a plethora of ways to support from as little as €20 / together with a rich tapestry of offerings from friends far and wide, sharing their art, gifts and skills.
